The thing about choosing to avoid tanking just to "compete" in the postseason and boost morale and motivation to win, does nothing for us. We have the wrong personnel with and without Zion. We might as well increase are odds to get a high lottery pick.
You argue that players will be sick of losing, well guess what even if they try to compete they still will be losing because we have the wrong personnel. We need several reliable efficient 3pt shooters, better passers, a coaching staff that knows how to defend the pick and roll.
We’re still a young team. Our fan base has to get out of this win now mentality. Let the young players develop.

I'd honestly rather them go hard this end of season and postseason, see what happens, and if he gets hurt and misses the first half of next season nbd. The important part is if he's around for the second half and postseason every year. He will miss some all star games, but the front office can't even figure out the best roster for a chip cuz he always hurt for playoffs.
