Even colleagues are shitting on Bud. That’s got to be a new low for a coach.
Nate Duncan pointed out on his podcast that Bud actually makes the timeout signal with his hands and then pulls it back.
His theory is Bud was going to call it but wasn’t sure if he still had one, so he pulled it back to avoid getting a tech.
I can understand not calling a timeout while Giannis was heading downhill (even though he probably still should have called it), but when he got stopped by Himmy at the top of the key they should have called a timeout no question.
Also, why the hell did he have Giannis guard the inbounder at the end of regulation and leave Lopez, A TOP 3 SHOT BLOCKER DURING THE REGULAR SEASON, on the bench?? Dude was basically begging for the lob play to Butler.

This reinforces my belief that had Giannis not been in God mode in the 2021 NBA Finals, Budenholzer would’ve been fired before now.

If you watch the reply, the ball went through with 1 second left on the game clock. If Bud calls timeout, the refs review and see that, put it on, and we have a play in the front court. Like wtf was Bud even doing?!?!?
