Absolutely absurd. The NBA media controls the narratives of basketball history. They just robbed Jokic the chance to become 3x MVP, champion, and finals MVP all in the same year. Like it or not these decisions control the way people in the future will view of the game of past. Maybe if the Nuggets win this year it will be viewed as a historical injustice, but more likely it will be just be used to bolster the legacy of his contemporaries against his own. Jokic may not care about his legacy, but us historians of the game do. In years it will used as fodder for many Jokic vs Embiid arguments, while it has already been clear for a while now that Jokic is a generational-historical talent, while Embiid is just a regular star. It’d be like comparing Patrick Ewing to Hakeem.

gah, i don’t want to compare them on the day Jo gets the award. Props.

But my man with 28/14/8 over 7 playoff games this year? Holy fucking fuck. Beast! Every game, I just can’t hardly wait to see what he’ll do next. Unreal talent, right here for us to enjoy. What a time to be a Nuggets fan. ❤️

This was Embiid all season crying for a pity MVP, and it worked; f-u to all the voters who were afraid to vote for a threepeat.
