Darvin Ham’s connection to Bobby Portis and Brook Lopez

First off, I know this scenario playing out is unlikely because it would take Milwaukee being ok with moving on from both, but it’s not impossible considering Lopez age (35) and his free agent status. Everyone thinks the Lakers can’t afford him, but is it not possible that Pelinka throws the entire non tax payer mid level at Lopez? He knows the front office, he knows the coach, and how many contending teams are going to be offering much more for an older player, who could fall off similar to Marc Gasol did as he gets older? There is a lot of risk throwing money at Lopez, but the Lakers should risk it and offer a 3-4 year deal, and you now have built a imposing front court with AD+Lopez for the next couple of seasons…

but why stop there? I have no clue if Milwaukee is open to moving Portis, but if he’s not a fit with the new coach and he ask for a trade to play for Ham again, why not? I would hate to give up the 17th pick, and Rob should start by l offering multiple 2nd’s, but it wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me if Milwaukee demanded it. These 2 additions would go a long way in improving two major weaknesses that showed up against Denver, and that’s size and shooting. We also know these 2 would mesh well with Lebron and AD because they both have had great chemistry playing with Giannis in similar systems. I think adding both would be massive additions that would give Ham some incredible lineup flexibility.

Would the addition of both be overkill or is it a good problem to have if Rob can pull it off?

    >He knows the front office

Which is why he won’t come back. Luke made Brook cry on the sideline by benching him at center for Kyle Kuzma. And then Magic Johnson completely ignored Brook during free agency. Its not happening.

And Bobby Portis looks like Jordan Clarkson with Julius Randle’s eyes.

  2. We won’t have the non taxpayer. Even if we stay under the tax line, we won’t be the 12 million under that we would need to be to use that.

    It’s not happening.

    Please seek help.

Lakers already let BroLo go when he wanted to stay… :/

I think if u get one of them it would be perfect.

Why do I feel like we’d have another Carmelo Anthony situation on our hands? We’ve already tried having a team of geriatrics, it went horribly.

I know it’s not the same because Lopez is still playing at a high level, but players do have a tendency to fall off a cliff when they get to the Lakers for some reason.

This sub is the worst offender with these absurd scenarios. I remember hearing that, and thinking, “nah, people just hate the Lakers so they exaggerate,” but holy shit.

Brook Lopez, provided we have the money, we can just get by simple virtue of Disneyland being here (he’s a huge Disney fan considering I’ve taken so many selfies with him at the parks and at the D23 Expo).

We unfortunately don’t have the cap for Brook Lopez though he would be the perfect center alongside AD

Portis is a good player but I don’t think it would be the best idea. Him and rui play similar and rui got it going rn. Get another straight up 3 shooter that can pass the rock as well. #lakers

I think we have enough old people on the team. We need young players with enough energy to carry the game some and take the load off of Bron.
