@Portland Trail Blazers

Ira Winderman (Heat beat writer) said Portland doesn’t know how to handle big trades. 😂

Guy was on The Big O show today and said the reason the trade hasn’t happened yet is because Portland isn’t used to handling big trades like Pat Riley and the Miami Heat.

Such BS from Heat writers and their entitled fan base.

Please don’t trade Dame to the Heat Joe. Take a stand for us small market teams!

Pat Riley is a thousand years old.

How many times are superstars traded?

“Handling big trades,” is code for take our garbage and like it. Anybody viewing things objectively could see the importance of getting an adequate return for sending out your best player. Dame had arguably one of his best seasons last year before the tank was initiated. Heat land is almost treating Dame like he’s washed up, but it’s the complete opposite. He’s still a baller and a future hall of famer.

I’m assuming he’s saying this because Portland hasn’t just said “ok here you go, take Dame for whatever you say”… Portland has to just stay firm until they get what they’re asking for. If they never do then ok, I guess it’s going to weird. But it’s very frustrating that the overall belief of all of this is that they just take Miami’s offer because he only wants to play there.

lol this is kinda hilarious, Ira is a complete ass guys don’t worry about him

Exploring the market and waiting for the best offer….sounds like we know perfectly how to handle big trades, big guy. Sorry you aren’t getting Dame for free. Cry about it more.

  6. spittafan

Shock jock says things which garner attention. This dude is just doing his (dumb) job

  7. geese1401

Can you imagine listening to someone like this??

Portland doesn’t have to handle anything. You want Dame come get him.. put up or shut up

  8. tblazrdude

I thought the CJ/Grant two step deals, and ensuing moves, were pretty big!

  9. BosnianBeastMVP

Here take 2 rotational players and two shitty first round picks !

  10. oregonianrager

Leveraging the future should be a knee jerk reaction. Screw you Heat.

  11. YoungAntiSocialite

    Do we?

You guys seem pretty confident, but I haven’t seen any evidence.

  12. Yeah Pat Riley is among the basketball legends but this is the only reason they are saying this. “heat culture” and all that bullshit has really rotted these dudes brains

  13. Seems like Riley and co are finding out in real time that Cronin isn’t the pushover they probably thought he was gonna be, and they don’t like it. Its very evident that once he puts a certain value on something, he doesn’t budge (see not trading the pick the last two years) so better get him what he asked for or move on.

  14. Drawing_The_Line

Guys, don’t you realize by now that it is your duty to facilitate all your talent to either the Heat or the Lakers for as little value as possible so as to appease the national sports media? What a joke this whole thing has become. Newsflash, the Trail Blazers only responsibility here is to their fans and the future of their team. They owe Dame, the Heat and ESPN nothing!

  15. Stunning-Statement-5

Just look at that fucking moron 🙄

  16. HorrorIndependent895

It’s an Aaron Goodwin talking point

  17. I never thought I’d be defending the blazers organization but here I am. The amount of people saying y’all are straight up obligated to give Dame to Miami for a pack of chips is insane.

  18. Fentress is also a beat writer, so there’s that.

  19. Historical_Spirit445

As an aside, Ira is the goofball who makes up questions for himself to fill out a daily-ish mailbag feature called “Ask Ira.” If you don’t believe me, check a couple out yourself and you will soon

“Would you take this polished turd for your golden god?”

  21. seattlesportsguy

Heat fans are fucking batshit insane right now. They really, genuinely think we should be happy getting Tyler Herro, who we don’t need, and another mid level player and a couple of picks that probably won’t amount to shit for a top 75 player.

All because they’re Miami and we’re Portland? Fuck right off.

  22. Life-Island

Waiting for the trade deadline seems like the best move here. There will be some team that feels like they are close, Some executive who feels he’s on the hot seat, that become willing to try and negotiate the trade even if they have to tell Lillard of things don’t go as x they will look at getting him to Miami on the off-season. If we don’t get an offer that is fair wait till then. Lillard can sit out and watch and not risk injury if he wants and I assume by the trade deadline he will be ready to play especially if the team he is looking at seems like a legitimate contender.

This is what I think Danny ainge, Morey, pat, etc. Would all do knowing that the incentives for teams will be dramatically different midway through the season from today. What rush are the blazers in? Not our championship window closing. That’s Miami and Dames problem. We got all the time in the world.

“Gee, that guy thinks I can’t make big trades, I’ll just show him” – J Cronin

    LOL, what a juvenile take

  24. Fickle-Function10

End of the day it’s really on dame. He needs to open up his market to other teams or risk losing a year of his prime.

  25. Classic_Run_4836

Despite my personal complaints with the Blazers FO, Heat has been lowballing crazy lol.
