So jeff is either a 2way or GG’s
uhhhh ok I guess? 42 percent three point shooter last year (oh it was on one attempt per game)
Goodbye Jeff Dowtin Jr

Finally, another Pels/Raps connection for Hoopgrids

Oh
DONT PUT YOUR PHONE DOWN
Hold up where did this come from?? We used our MLE and BAE, is 3.2m the minimum for someone with his experience nowadays?? Also we don’t have any guaranteed roster spots, so is Temple competing in camp? Trade coming?
Wonder what’s the guarantee on this. If it’s fully guaranteed 3.2m then that suddenly makes it seem like Dowtin is not likely to make the team
Edit: From Blake, [Raptors now at 15 guaranteed spots (if Temple is guaranteed). He’s a cool guy, good room presence. Raps about $1.9M clear of tax (and 3.1M clear if we exclude “unlikely” bonuses for a few guys), so a tiny bit of flexibility to cut a guarantee if, say, Dowtin earns a spot.](https://twitter.com/blakemurphyodc/status/1686069558476488715?s=46&t=sbk6yuyliVaFRQjBUBJCMQ)
Also, [per Koreen it only counts for 2m+ on the books](https://twitter.com/ekoreen/status/1686070240709394434?s=46&t=sbk6yuyliVaFRQjBUBJCMQ)
Flynn and Dowtin fighting for that last spot.
Don’t get this signing.. can someone shed some light?
Why are we signing geriatric free agents if we’re not competing for a championship

man is 37 LOL. yes. the direction is clear.
Masai is seriously cooked.
Someone for Thad to hang out with
A trade is coming I believe it, can someone smarter than me confirm if Kobe bufkin is trade eligible by august 2?
WHY
All time who he play for guy
I like the signing. Temple brings in a veteran presence which can help lead and support the young guys as they get a foothold in the league and develop their game to an NBA level. Nice add along the margins Masai.
Dont know how hes played in recent seasons but in 2k mynba the pelicans always offer an unprotected pick to get off his contract
Never thought we’d sign someone older than Thad
Hey at least we didn’t give up a 1st rounder for this “veteran locker room presence”.
I traded for this guy every single time in 2k so that the raps can get a 26’ first round pick. Didn’t think we would actually land him
Our team construction is pure ass
Precious Dick Temple sounds like an interesting lineup
I’ve never seen so much outrage over a minimum signing who’s probably not going to play any meaningful minutes for us
Pro tip for everyone, having competition at training camp is a **good** thing. It’s not like we had some prospect coming up that he’s taking a spot from
Only on this sub could an end of the bench guy on a vet min signing be met with so much doom and gloom lol
Our media should be on masai’s ass like what are we doing? Why are we allergic to guards? Why do we have to delay all moves until there’s no time left to make ‘em and all with zero direction going forward but just praying it works.
Another questionable decision from the front office. Constructing the most mid team of all time
We now have Dick Temple!
End of bench minimum salary contract. Vet presence in locker room and at practice, on a team with abrasion between vets and young players last year. Absorbs minutes on b2b games when young players are inconsistent.
What exactly is the problem here?
Masai washed
I’ve been watching the NBA since the 80s. Granted, I don’t watch every game, but I’ve never even heard of this guy.
Came for the “Masai fan boys praising this move as genius” comments.

Surprised we didn’t go for a younger option (Terence Ross anyone?)
It’s not a horrible signing but I wonder if this is in anticipation of trading away other vets?
Scottie when Garrett tries to tell him to practice harder:

More like Garrett TempOLD
(sorry)
Why?
Don’t mind it. With FVV gone, we’ve lost some vet leadership.
I like it. Even if he doesn’t play much he’s one of the most respected veterans in the league. After Fred’s bad vibes last year the locker room needs solid leadership.
But knowing their sub people are going to overanalyze an end of bench guy, so there’s no point in trying to be a voice of reason.
Holy I don’t get the negativity. He’s a veteran presence, we have cap space and it’s a one year deal
Though that does fill up the last roster spot. Which begs the question, what happens to dowtin?
Can we flip Flynn for a second? Or just waive him outright?
