>.8. Alexandre Sarr | 7-0 big | 18 years old | Perth Wildcats
> At 7-foot with a near 7-foot-5 wingspan, he has all the tools teams look for in a low-usage, defensively minded center. **He’ll play for the Perth Wildcats in the NBL this season, where he’ll likely back up All-NBL big man Keanu Pinder** and fortify the team’s defensive backline, which struggled last season.
Not that it means all that much, but for those who have said Travers isn’t a great prospect because he wasn’t starting in the Australian league, here’s a projected lottery pick that will also be a backup in Perth for a year. Just thought that it was an interesting tidbit as to prospect development and the quality of the NBL overall as a pro league.

As an Australian Cavs fan, the NBL/AUS League is getting better.
It’s not a crazy league but lots of American High School recruits are opting to play NBL over European Leagues which has increased the level of competition with some preferring our “lifestyle”, weather and we’re “English” speaking which means a 17-18 year old looking to move here from USA doesnt experience a crazy culture shock and change.
Lamelo for example played NBL and now has a stake in his former team. Also, I think American High School prospects opting for NBL underestimate the physicality of going up against grown/physical men and a lot of undrafted College players means the NBL is not a “scrub” league what it used to be
