So Chaim just didn’t want a generational player. He’d rather give $30 million a year to Corey Kluber, Kike Hernandez, Joely Rodriguez, and a 30 year old Yoshida.
I’d rather have Mookie than those 4 players. And that’s what it would cost this year to have him on this team. (And that’s a rough estimate: I didn’t look up the numbers – just going off memory).
