Serbia and Lithuania are the best because Serbia is less then 7mil people , Lithuania less than 3mil and both countries have no foreign players like other European teams. Lithuania just beat team USA at 2023 world cup and Serbia finished 🥈 without 2x MVP Jokic and two more guys (Micic and Pokusevski both went to NBA) wich would be in starting 5 if they were present. Team USA lost from Canada in a battle for 🥉 and finished 4th which was their 3rd lost at the tournament.
if the 9 us players that were on the first team and second team had played that year…. do u think the us would have won?? i only ask as a joke.. obviously theyd have won..js if all the best us players play… the us wins.. not only wins but dominates..js i feel like the nba tries to not get them to play. so that other countries think they have a chance then the expansion of the nba can go to other countries.. think about it??

The 2006 tournament was a different story than 02 or 04. There the US looked super dominant till the SF, then the greeks got stupidly hot and just couldn't miss a shot for like 15 minutes straight, that shit happens. But they bounced back and beat Argentina with ease for the bronze medal.

Teams are not more competitive the nba is completely watered down and has been so called globalized and this has made the nba pathetic as the league is now made to accommodate the weak 3 point shooting no post skills no dominant center so called positionless effeminate non physical non athletic European style of play….the nba is both terrible and pathetic today and any of the premier teams from the late 60’s thru the late 90’s and early to mid 2000’s would wipe the floor with the nba and the world!!!!

That last shot against Yugoslavia should have gone to clutch Reggie Miller instead of bad 3pt shooter Andre Miller.
On paper, that team looks solid and capable of winning the world cup. But I think that they've overestimated themselves and underestimated the later opponents.

American players currently make up the bulk of the players, but dominate? Non-Americans have won the last 5 MVP awards. And I don't see any American players likely to win it in the near future. The best players are all over 30. And I don't see any young upcoming players that I like much.
The only mistake that made team USA lost, is to believe that other countries do not play at their level in basketball. Ignorance at purest!!!
