Pistons ironically don't have the stones anymore to pull off a big trade since getting burned with Griffin. Need to take all their young talent in a bundle and go get a Zion Williamson or Karl Anthony-Towns to play with Cunningham. Stay away from guys like Lavine, etc, repeats of the Griffin move. (Win now on a bad team). Making a move for a star with the right timeline wouldn't be cheap either, Stewart/Ivey/Thompson as a starter in a trade imo for a real star player, also Pistons are really in limbo for a big move not being able to move their 1st round draft pick for a while till it settles with the New York Knicks. (People can google the trade) Reading those three names alone, some fans had heart palpitations but like… they're not stars, they don't result in wins. Even Duren, good starter league wide, but no star, and not trading these quality guys for stars is a problem when the team is also not drafting stars maybe outside Cade. IDK how the season will go, but honestly if they continue this way, down this road, it's an easy reboot of the whole staff and upper management unless ownership is literally ok with running a clown show. ( He'll get paid either way/Tom Gores ). " I hope it gets better. " Is a statement from someone who's lost, broken, who also knows it, but doesn't want to give up. lol. Insanity my man.
GM is getting away with dumb moves too. Trading Saddiq Bey because you didn't want to pay him and bringing in Joe Harris this offseason is an absolute joke, joke. Keeping Killian Hayes around period… Trading Bey and not Bogdanovic at 34 last TDL because you didn't want to pay Bey is also another joke. Especially now in hindsight when one guys hurt and value has absolutely plummeted, and the others moved on with another team having success. The Saddiq Bey trade in-general is a joke. Everyone involved but the Pistons did well who walked with with C James Wiseman(Great). I don't mind giving guys 2nd chances, but dang-it, most everyone everywhere knew Wiseman/Bagley weren't good before coming here. There really wasn't a bunch of guess work involved with those two imo, if anyone seen them play prior in NBA games. GM's really botched every trade involving roster players and not draft picks/draftee draft day trades.
Cunningham-Ivey-Bey-Stewart-Duren could have had something cooking more so than whatever they have out nightly now. Anyways, long rant short, Pistons have a bunch of pawns on the chess board and Cunningham is the only real chess piece to build around. They need at least 1 more star/core type player that teams have to plan for or can take a game over in moments.
By-the-by I thought you did a good job explaining your view.
Speaking on injuries, other teams are injured as well so it cancels out. Also, if we would've drafted gradey dick at 5 instead of ausar, we would be so much better.
I wondered about Monty's motivation to coach here as well. It seemed he was fatigued and maybe even burnt out after the Phoenix experience so I wondered how much energy he actually has to bring to a new gig without taking some time away. Something about the vibe in his press conferences hasn't exuded passion or clarity to me.
This team has so many problems I don’t even know where to start. They don’t play defense, mostly all of them are offensively challenged, Cade is definitely not a 1st option superstar like everyone said he was gonna be, Troy Weaver decides to only sign big men who are pretty much washed in this league, all his draft picks have been absolutely mid. Everything about this organization is an absolute embarrassment from the owner down.
Prob with Detroit, lots of great young talent, the young core is good but do you really see the FIT longterm? They have a lot of young pieces that its time to choose whose actually who you going with moving forward. Is Duren, Stewart & Ausar your frontcourt? Is Ivey & Cade gonna fit? Where will you get the spacing? What will you do with the other young pieces?
2nd, is the coach the right coach for this group? Does his coaching style & system fit the talent/skills of the players? Ivey coming off the bench doesnt feel right in so many ways. And he aint getting rewarded even if he plays well. Theres a big difference between teaching discipline & down right just not liking a player..
The GM doesnt know what direction he wants. Got a coach supposedly to start winning but the roster construction is bad. Dont see the vets they have as MENTOR type players & they all pretty much play the same positions. Too many young pieces that they dont know who to prioritize..
Time to trade some of your young pieces for ready now guys or other young players that fills need like shooting..

Great video krispy
Man I feel old I graduated high school in 2008 too. Duren is our best player period.
As a Celtics fan, I’m really pulling for the Pistons. That ‘04 team is one of my favorite teams ever, and I hope y’all become competition for us again
It’s tough being a piston fan it really is
Monty Williams thought Killian Hayes is Devin Booker trying to be the smartest man in the room lol I think he lost the locker room with that
So farewell Detroit from Bob seger to Bob saget we don’t really care
krispy gotta stay faded during these tough times
