Know OG anobi to the New York Knicks RJ Barrett to the Toronto Raptors I want to discuss the importance of that trade and what that trade could mean for Zack LaVine and the Chicago Bulls in the future um there’s a lot to to decipher from that and again it’s very surprising

Talk about this trade with the Knicks and the Raptors discuss who won the trade and then we’ll talk about what it means for the Bulls so the Knicks ended up receiving RJ uh no they got rid of RJ Barrett they got rid of Emanuel quickley they got rid of the 2024 second round

Pick I believe to the Toronto Raptors the Raptors ended up giving up OG anobi Malachi Flynn and Princess Chua to the uh New York Knicks so it looks like New York’s going for a little bit of a switch up in terms of how to approach their NBA season they were doing well

Beforehand to be honest so this is a bit suspicious for them but they might believe OG anobi can get them over the top and OG anobi is a very solid Player move to the toron Toronto Raptor side of things RJ Barrett um a team you know he

Supported the Raptors most of his life if not all of his life I believe and he’s going to be returning home to Canada to play for his home team I think it’s a very good situation for RJ Barrett plus Emanuel quickley it’s a heck of a point guard up and cominging

Point guard that I think the Toronto need so in terms of who win this who wins this trade I think on paper the Knicks might win this trade cuz I think OG anobi is a fantastic two-way player some may call him a little bit overrated

I think he’s having a tad bit of a Down year this year but still is capable of taking the New York Knicks to the next level on both ends of the ball a fantastic three-point shooter on his night a very solid defensive player as well he’s a forward a lot of people are

Looking at forwards these days the New York Knicks I think did well in acquir in this type of player now it really just depends as well cuz I believe he is going to be on an expiring contract if I’m not mistaken how much are they willing to pay OG anobi once this season

Comes to an end that’s going to be an interesting topic and it’s going to be interesting to see if OG anobi sticks around in the first place we’ll wait and see what happens there but ultimately a good player and I think the Knicks just want to pick a different direction we’ll

See if that direction works out for them the Raptors look I think with the Raptors this is more of a story L than anything cuz I think OG adobi is the best piece in this trade package RJ Barrett is a solid player averages 18 points per game but I

Think it’s on fairly poor efficiency not great from the three-point line um he was a good Defender a couple of years ago people are arguing if he’s a good Defender this year but he’s having a better year I would say this year compared to previous but a lot of people

Are not necessarily too high on RJ Barett as of now and Manuel quickle is a heck of a player and I feel like again this could be one of situations where you look at the Toronto Raptors and you’re thinking RJ Barrett is the centerpiece whereas Emanuel quickley

Could be the guy that actually really looks to be what makes the Raptors win this trade but ultimately I don’t see a loser in this trade I really don’t um again the storyline makes sense for the Raptors if you’re talking about a story RJ Barett returning home and stuff like that but

They also got two very talented players and the Knicks went in a different direction and got themselves a very talented player I think we need to stop saying this team wins the trade and this team loses the trade sometimes both teams can win a trade and that’s kind of

How I truly feel towards this instance if I had to pick one team that picks that wins this deal I would say the Knicks have won it because I still feel there is more for them to do um and that is something we’ll wait and see about

But I think both teams did okay in this trade just a little bit of a different way to spice things up for both teams let’s say but now we turn into what could this mean for the Chicago Bulls what does this mean for Zack LaVine what does it mean for the Chicago Bulls

Well first and foremost it sets the market um for for Zack LaVine again you saw OG anobi a fantastic player RJ Barrett a fantastic player you see the level in which those trades have to happen so that sets a market for Zack LaVine the difference between Zack

LaVine and most of these other guys is that most of these other guys are on expiring contracts or or are restricted free agents um you know Zack LaVine isn’t Zack LaVine has their longterm contract with the Chicago Bulls making a heck of amount of money but it does set

The market so at least now with first trade out of the way from a big trade out of the way for the NBA maybe outside of James Harden but James Harden was a little bit of a different story you get to see what the kind of situations

You’re looking for what type of trade packages you can make now compared to how other teams are handling their business I think that’s a good thing for the Bulls if something like this happened first before Zack LaVine set the tempo because if we received a bad trade for Zack LaVine that will make

Other teams offer low blows to different teams as well so knowing that this trade went by you you could see maybe a better trade for Zack LaVine considering what went for what if you know what I mean hopefully that makes sense um but two I don’t think the New York Knicks are done

With their trade situation I feel like a lot of people are saying okay well there goes Zack LaVine to the Knicks there go Zack LaVine to the Raptors look I think Zack LaVine to the Raptors is dead and buried at this point if you’re going with RJ Barrett you basically have

Already made your decision of what shooting guard you want and AJ Barrett is I wouldn’t say better than LaVine but he’s cheaper than and maybe that’s the rout that they wanted to go down I don’t know but I can’t see a world where Zack LaVine and arj Barrett play on the same

Team but the Knicks still have assets they do they’ve got Bunches of picks they’ve got Evan forier that they could get rid of in ter of a contract value I would still like Grimes from the New York Knicks I don’t believe Zack lavich the Knicks could be dead and buried

Maybe they could try to replace one shooting guard for another while adding on top of that an ogan and Obi that seems like a fantastic deal to me if I was a New York Knicks fan but of course I’m not a New York Knicks fan I don’t

Know how New York Knicks fans will feel about Zack LaVine to the Knicks I think some people will be on board I think most people will be against it because of the contract I don’t know how the financial situation works with this deal but that could be something very

Interesting for the Knicks to pursue I don’t think Zack LaVine is dead and buried to the New York Knicks I really really don’t um so that’s what it means for Zack LaVine and the Chicago Bulls I still believe that the Knicks could be interested in a Zack LaVine deal but

Outside that it doesn’t necessarily mean too much I think it just means that I doubt Zack LaVine is going to go to the Raptors now considering they traded for a shooting guard and I don’t think um you know we’re going to get a guy like Pascal sakam for instance if you know

What I mean because it looks like they’re going to trade Pascal I don’t think the Bulls are going to be the team that gets him but for the Knicks I still think the doors wide open and if it’s not those two teams the Lakers is still

An option for the for Zack LaVine as well so we’ll have to wait and see but but we also need to heavily consider the idea that Zack LaVine may be able to stay in Chicago this season now I know it’s not a popular thing it’s not the thing I

Want to see happen at the end of the day I’ve said very publicly if Zack LaVine doesn’t want to be here then I don’t wants him here I’m fine with him playing until he gets that trade that he wants and I hope he can adapt to this team

Until he gets the trade that he wants but if he doesn’t want to be in Chicago I’m not going to be the guy that says I want to keep a player that doesn’t want to be here I still think it can work while he’s here but once he gets that

Trade and we get Assets in return we both need to move on from each other Zack LaVine needs to move on from the Bulls and the Bulls need to move on from Zack LaVine but if we can’t get a trade that actually makes sense for the Chicago Bulls right now this season I

Don’t see it as impossible for the Bulls to say hey look we you are here for the next four years we will find a trade for you but if we can’t get what we want this season we are not going to rush it and we are going to play things on our

Terms rather than Zack lavine’s terms Zack LaVine has his agent he has everything in his favor in terms of where he wants to go the teams that are interested is interested in him and everything in between I get that but the Bulls might want to play hard ball in

This instance we shouldn’t get accept a low blow offer for Zack LaVine just cuz he wants out sometimes hard ball has to be played maybe we sacrifice Zack LaVine this season still in with the Chicago balls he could choose if he wants to play or not that’s on him and see what

Happens maybe that’s a situation we could possibly go down I feel like that situation is a little bit more unlikely I do feel like we trade Zack LaVine this season but we shouldn’t be ruling these types of things out what do you guys think we’re going to end this video here
