The Sixers attempted 45 threes tonight. This is their highest total since Christmas

Cam Payne and Buddy Hield accounted for 21 of these attempts. The team only shot 33.3%, but it’s nice that their deadline additions have them playing 2020s basketball

Quite interested to see how the team plays when everyone is healthy now. 3pt shooting volume was our biggest downfall

Paul Reed trying to get those numbers up even higher much to everyone else’s chagrin.

  3. On the one hand, tonight’s shot diet made me feel way better about this team going forward.

On the other hand, we HAVE to stop leaving teams WIDE open from three every. Single. Possession.

As much is it sucks to lose Pat Bev, Payne is a better fit for the offense. Defense, no doubt that’s all Pat Bev.

8/21 is 38% not 33%. but yea, it’s nice to shoot threes.

Someone brought up earlier this week when we take more threes we tend to lose, and when we take less threes we tend to win.

I believe it’s really down to – when we are hitting threes early, we stop going for threes to control the game with easy, back down buckets in the paint. When we’re not hitting threes early, they fall behind and they get desperate and start chucking them hoping they start to fall.

To me – this is bad coaching. Nurse needs to step in and if the threes aren’t falling make them take different shots. I know we are **badly** lacking a true Power Forward, and have ever since Iguodala left the team. It’s frankly extremely embarrassing. (Thaddeus Young might count but I’m gonna say no). But if the threes aren’t falling, we need to find a different way to the basket instead of throwing up nothing but bricks. ESPECIALLY with a bench so short. If no one has the hot hand, pivot.
