Idk, but I like the nba, like really like it but the NFL does such a better job of propping up any team that is good from the NFL itself or the media.

Just something I’ve noticed, OKC is not even a big market but the media sure likes to pick favorites for whatever reason.

I think, reasonably, that the Thunder are seen to be at the start of a dynasty while the wolves are seen to be a flash in the pan. Given goberts’ and Mike’s age and the national hate on kat I can see the doubt.

All we can do is see what happens.

To be fair I think thunder are the more complete team currently.

We have the better Defense but they have both a very good offense and defense.

I think we have a bit more veteran leadership for the playoffs and the homer in me is taking playoff Ant over Shai.

I don’t know it’s 8am in March and who tf who would’ve thought the number 1-2 would be wolves and thunder.

    Small markets for the win

The answer to the question is on the far right of the pic

In all reality..neither us or them are winning it all this year. I’m realistically hoping for a win in the first round and then anything after is gravy. The regular season seems to mean less and less (see Miami)…we just need some extra playoff experience under the belt before I think we can actually make a push for a trophy.

Well I can give them a reason.

If the Wolves unfortunately fall short, the Celtics will dog walk the Thunder.

  7. This might be the homer in me, but I think OKC will suffer greatly from the playoff whistle. We’re already getting tightly called every night teaching us how to play, but I feel like Shai gets a very friendly whistle that will change in the post season, similar to the Harden effect. They are a good team, but without the benefits of that change I think they will suffer.

This inferiority complex (especially local) MN sports fans have is not a good look. Been saying it for years, our fans need a championship to help some of this go away. It is exhausting to continue to come across.

Thunder feel too Shai-centric to me tho. That same team minus Shai imo would be in a play-in scramble. It’s fine to rely on a single superstar but unless that superstar is Lebron James I don’t think it can get you very far in the playoffs. I think that overall as a team the TWolves are better.

It’s because SGA gets 30 every night and they don’t have clutch scoring issues. It doesn’t mean they are the favorite or have their own issues nor am I saying we are the favorite. We will see what matchups happen in the playoffs

Because the Wolves have been the dumbest team in the league which is partially true but I don’t know how dumb all the other teams are.

I guess it was too stressful up there in first😄

  12. DLo helping the wolves get a top seed for once lol

  13. I’m confused, I thought we were number 1 today again.

They choke to this old man 🤣🤣🤣

  15. yourloudneighbor

    Give you one reason?

The coach weighs more than the center

  16. kellan1977

I love how ESPN just waited..and waited… and waited for them to be the number one seed so they could talk about how great they are. Meanwhile for the Timberwolves there are crickets.

  17. DeleAlliForever

I think Denver is the obvious favorite and then it’s everyone else. And I think it’s very close between the 10 teams in the west. I think we could beat anyone and also lose to anyone

  18. RoyalLake

Idk why people care so damn much about who gets more “respect” here.

This team will earn respect when they win when it matters.

Until we win in the playoffs we won’t be respected.

  19. dayx0123

Talked about this with friends. It’s an interesting question. I think it comes down to the fact that they are a more exciting team to watch. Defense is boring and the Thunder have a more dynamic offense which equals hype. Right or wrong I think that plays a big part.

  20. Self_Important_Mod

It’s incomprehensible why they are treated like a media darling for possessing the 1 seed for 8.7 seconds.

Is it because they have a sex offender on their team? I know people in media like that stuff

  21. BingoBongoBang

Damn they are #1 with only four players?

  22. Jayrrock

A top team for sure, but they along with Boston can’t beat the Wolves in 7. Denver and Phoenix (and New Orleans) are the only teams that could possibly beat us, but the’ll have a hard time in the playoffs too. IMO

  23. Uptownbro20

The nba media cares only about single players on a team or big market teams.
