It’s actually refreshing to see he can actually dribble and not one of those lanky guys media tries to sell as the next Giannis or KD just because they are long and can do straight line drives.
It’s not the best and we will definitely get ripped up this year. But seeing him so loose and controlled with it really makes me think he should put it out there to go train with KD. Because that dude even without lifting tons of weight is still strong and good enough with the handle that he gets to do what he wants. And Matas ain’t KD but he definitely has some skills at his size that could be helped learning from a guy who’s spent over 10 years at that size and is arguably the best pure scorer in league history. When you start to be able to move at your pace with having dribbles and being that tall you can be a giant threat on offense. Because you’re already tall enough to shoot over guys but if you show poise now you mess with the opponent mind because then they don’t know if you’ll just fade or step back and spin and all types of crossovers and get to the rim.

Getting Matas, Giddey, and Smith plus re-signing PWill has me happier than a koala up in a gum tree.

I like what I saw this early. He definitely needs to put on some more mass as we all know. You could see a couple of times his handle became loose when bodied up a little.

If it ends up being legit in the league, at his size he’s going to be able to do some things.

I would be very happy is Matas can develop into a problem.

He has a quick first step as well.
