This is why tanking is a bad strategy. Forget all this nonsense. Cooper Flagg could have gone to the Spurs with a 3% chance. That’s how gambling works. The Jazz have destroyed their team, ruined the 24-25 season. And they only have a 14% chance of getting the #1 draft pick, (who may or may not break his toe and wash out of the NBA after a year).

Collier is legit showing high level potential. His #1 ranking in high school was no fluke. If he can get a stable 3 pt shot he will be vying for an all star in a few years. If he never figures out the 3 i think he still becomes an above average starter. His ball security for his age is very promising

Can someone finally just say it, Dennis Lindsay made us competitive, Danny Ainge ran us into the ground and we suck. Draft picks don't win championship. Players do.
All those jazz fans saying tankikng does not work… research how the Spurs got Tim Duncan and Wemby. Spurs are a small market team and still have a sognificantly bigger market than us. The only small marlet team to win a championship "the right way", is the Bucks. There are far more data points to show why winning a championship as a small market team without tanking is not as likely. Thisnisnthe first year the jazz are even trying to tank. If you we win 20-25 games we have failed to secure a quality draft postion and failed to have a successful season.
It'll happen, because everything happening in the NBA right now is about making the most popular teams exciting again, to make the league more relevant again.
True worse case scenario: Spurs 1, Spurs 2, Pelicans 3, Houston 4 (Suns pick) and Jazz 9th.
Sheesh. The 3-1 trade with the suns was not good value, no matter how you spin it. Literally the silliest narrative. Draft picks can be used as picks, traded up or down in drafts, traded for future 1sts, or used as assets in any trade. They are ammunition for smart front offices to use. It is simply not enough that the suns pick has a very very very small chance to be a #1 pick (a pick which the suns fully control the destiny of), to give up 3 pieces of ammo, for 1.
This rant is stupid they call it a lottery for a reason you have to get lucky. Even if the hawks fall off the map the 7th worst team has to defy odds to get cooper flag. The jazz will be a bottom 5 team 14% is the best any team can do so there it is it’s math and luck hopefully we are bottom 3 but that’s 14%. This is the game you play we will have better odds than the spurs but that’s all you can do.

If Cooper Flagg goes to San Antonio the NBA won't be worth watching for the next several years. The Jazz rebuilding style absolutely sucks, it is not working. Drafting young talent and playing Veterans, how dumb can they be? Good luck in trying to win a championship with Keyonte George, Isaiah Collier, Brice Sensabaugh and the other new draftees. These players do have NBA talent, but far from having championship talent.
We have a hulk. Named Isaiah. Wouldn’t trade any point guard in the league for him, yes I said it. We have an elite off ball shooter that is 7 feet. We have a sky-Walker. We need one 1st option piece. And we have tons of assets. Doubt we win any draft anytime soon. Should have traded all 3 2025 picks for Zion.
6:56 David, I think you got your math wrong about Spurs having better chance of getting top 4 than Jazz. If you assume Spurs have 7th and 10th best odds, that adds up to 45% for a top 4 pick, not 55%.
Spurs could actually get TWO top 4 draft picks if super lucky… lol they'd be that lucky!
