Luka is not a lockdown 1-on-1 defender. But he's pesky in the passing lines. Another great intangible of Luka is, he's the only player I know of who can shot 1 for 9 or 3 for 13 in a game, but still has the gravity to pull multiple defenders.

One of the most important things about the Playoffs is halfcourt shot creation & nobody in the NBA is even close to the Lakers there as they probably have the 2 best Offensive engines in the league, honestly maybe even All-Time.
Just other worldly playmaking & true 3 level scorers in Luka & LeBron, then a 20 PPG 3rd option with self-creating ability in AR15.

Dude, this is the best breakdown of why the Lakers have been successful of late that I have seen on all of YouTube. Most other pundits are merely doling out opinions and conjecture, usually repeating what they've heard other people say who they thought were smart people. You totally understand the game and you totally know how to break it down. I am immediately subscribing to you. You also understand the value of jaxson Hayes. I saw a video today from Lakers Nation and the two pundits were saying the Jaxson could not be our starting center next year. The only benefit they said he brings is the fact that they could go out and get a Clint Capela or somebody of that nature and older star and not have to worry about playing him too many minutes. Other than that they said he's an end of the bench player. I'm like, how are you guys so popular? I hate it when guys think it makes them look smart by minimizing a player's upside. 👍👍👍

I used to do this in rl I would always prioritise the paint/ driving lanes vs a three from someone who can’t shoot. Never over commit and if the pass comes just close out to force a bad shot from a bad shooter.

Maybe i missed in your analysis, i wonder how will this defense work against dynamic passing offense, like Warriors'. It's a fact that no defense holds the same ground after 4-5 passes.
Second, it seems to me that a shooting big can tear this concept apart.

Mavs fan here: Luka has always been able to be solid at defense. He's long and can switch comfortably from 2-4s.
He had to do so much on offense that exhausted him. Now he has Lebron & Reaves to take pressure off him.
