Racism may have just cost Dallas their franchise. Nico says he doesn't like "European" players. I take this to mean white. This is the elephant in the room because on no level did this trade make any sense. Not from the fans perspective, marketing, brand recognition, ticket sales, television revenue, etc. Estimates are now that Dallas will lose at least one billion over the next 3 years due to the trade. That is 3 times what they would have had to pay Luka. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to understand it either. All it takes is a freaking excel spreadsheet.

Nah, stay the course. 2026-2027 should be the target to win a title. Keep the core, get in the lottery the next two years to up the talent level, and then get after it. The biggest problem with the Mavs is a lack of patience. That was Donnie Nelson’s greatest trait. It walked out the door as others got in charge of basketball decisions.

There is a very simple solution. Trade Nico to a team with a young star, and since there's already familiarity, immediately fleece him for that star (since he's so dumb). And you expedite the rebuild process.
