its obv denver wanted to make sure they were tking the last shot b4 game ends. if u make a 2ptr too earlier opposition can make a 3 pter if they are lucky from half court or somewhere else. they simply tried to hold the ball exactly to the last sec to release the shot but endeed up losing it. its ok i think.
still better strategy than losing the game with mismanagement of time and let your opponent take a shot too. just dont give it to them even if it costs u your shot. chill.. game is tied anyway.
