The dogs are still barking in the second round of the NBA playoffs despite the fact that both home favorites won and covered last night. Home favorites are just 5-7 straight up and favorites in general are seven and 13 against the spread. The Denver Nuggets will face elimination tonight against the Oklahoma City Thunder. And Denver will be getting points. Will we be backing the dog in this game? Oklahoma City is a five-point favorite. The total has been bet up to 217 and a half. An elimination game. You might expect a low score. Uh Denver faces elimination for the second time in these playoffs. Uh they won 120 to 101 in game seven versus the Clippers. The score at halftime in that game 58 to 47 for Denver. Uh then you go back to uh game seven against Minnesota when they were eliminated from last year’s playoffs. Uh they lost that game 98- 90, but the score at halftime in that game Denver 53, Minnesota 38. Uh Denver is looking pretty good in the first half getting points at home facing elimination. Uh I did say prior to game five, we did cash in with Denver plus 10 and a half. We also cashed in with Jokic over one and a half threes in that game. He ended up hitting five of seven from beyond the arc. But I did say that I I liked Denver to win one of the next two games to force a game seven. And I’m going to stick with that. I’m going to take Denver straight up on the money line plus 155. I like Oklahoma City’s team total under 54 and a half for the first half. Uh Oklahoma City in the win in game five, 54 points at halftime. You go back to game four in Denver, 42 points at halftime. Uh I like Denver to come out strong. I I think the first half will be low scoring. And Joker coming off 44 points in game five. Five of seven from beyond the ark. In an elimination game, teams often like to lean on their superstar. Live and die with the guy who got you here. That’s the mentality. So, I I’ve looked at Joker’s points total, points, rebounds, assists, whatever combination you want to look at. It’s all overpriced. Uh, he’s gone under his points total in the majority of the games in the playoffs. That’s true for all of those numbers and they’re just not budging. They’re setting everybody wants to bet on the Joker and they’re just setting the numbers a little too high for my blood. But the over one and a half made threes is the one reasonable prop you can actually get on Joker for this game and I think he will hit it. So that’s what we’re doing.
