Here’s How the Miami Heat Can Trade for Kevin Durant & Jrue Holiday | Realistic 4 Team Deal
So, this is a part two to yesterday’s video where I talked about the Miami Heat’s reported interest in Drew Holiday and why I think he’s likely on the move. And for a quick recap as to why, well, it’s because Drew Holiday makes a lot of money for a lot of years and the Boston Celtics are over the salary cap by a lot. $19 million over the second apron to be exact, which is insane because it means that next year, as is the Celtics tax bill, will be $238 million, which the Celtics can definitely not afford to pay, especially when you consider that next season they’re not going to be a contender due to Tatum’s unfortunate Achilles tear. So, they’re definitely going to be sellers maybe of Jaylen Brown, maybe Derek White, definitely Porzingis. But the one guy that I do think Dami Heat can get their hands on is Drew Holiday. Now, of course, Heat fans don’t really want to deal with Drew’s big contract, especially when you consider that we have Drew Holiday at home. But I have one question for you. Who is stopping this lineup? Now, I’ll describe the photo to you in case you’re listening on the audio only side on the podcast or even if you’re watching the video on YouTube because it’s very clearly a bad rendition of an AI photograph. But what you’re looking at is a photo of Drew Holiday, Tyler Herro, Kevin Otamio, and Khil Wear all wearing Miami Heat jerseys. And in my opinion, this starting lineup would immediately make the Heat contenders in the Eastern Conference. Now, you might be wondering, is this even possible to to get Drew and Kevin in the same off season while keeping the contracts of Tyler Herro and Bam Baile? And the answer is yes. But after I spent a very, very long time in the trade machine finding something that works for all parties because I try to be realistic when I do these trade videos. There’s a lot of Heat fans out there, and not just Heat fans, I guess it’s all NBA fans in general. They be saying, “Walk with me.” and then proceed to show the most lopsided trade in NBA history or second most lopsided trade because we saw Luca go to the Lakers. But I try to be realistic. I I try to look at every team and say, “Who says no?” And in this trade, I lit I legit don’t think anybody would say now no. Now, I will tell you before I show you the trade, the hardest thing about it was finding a way to get both the Celtics and Suns under the Second Apron because they can’t aggregate contracts as a second apron team. So, meaning they can’t put more than one salary together in a trade unless they are under the second apron by the time the trade is completed. That’s the tricky part. So, if you hear on any of these other podcasts or national media shows, you hear, “Oh, the Suns can’t aggregate contracts. The Celtics can’t.” They can. They just have to be under the Second Apron by the time the trade is completed. That being said, I finally found something that works for every team, which I’ll summarize at first and then we’ll kind of break it down. But this trade is the Miami Heat receiving Kevin Aance, Drew Holiday, and Royce O’Neal. The Boston Celtics receive Duncan Robinson and a first round pick from the Miami Heat. The Phoenix Suns receive Andrew Wiggins, Terry Rosir, Nicole Yoic, Kameh Jame Hakez Jr. and two first round picks from the Miami Heat. And then the Detroit Pistons will be receiving Sam Hower and Misich from the from the Phoenix Suns. And as to why this trade makes sense for all parties involved, well, let me break it down to you. [Music] I’m going to regret putting that in this video, aren’t I? Anyways, let me actually break it down with you. We’ll start with Hold on. Hold on. Stop the video. If I miss this shot, I’m asked if I make it. You subscribe. Let’s get it. Cash money, baby. Let’s get Celtics cuz we’ll save the Heat for last. They’re going to be getting Duncan Robinson and the Warriors 2025 first round pick, which of course the Miami Heat now own. And that’s going to be 20th overall. Now, the Celtics main goal with any trade this off season is going to be getting under the apron, preferably both, the first and second apron, and this trade allows them to do that. Now, at first glance, it shows them $2.5 million under the second apron, but $9.2 million over the first apron. However, of Duncan’s $19.8 8 million that he’s due next year. 10 million of it is not guaranteed. So, he’s set to make 19.8 million, but 10 million of it is not guaranteed. This is beneficial to Boston because they would be able to trade for Duncan Robinson and then wave him, meaning they would only owe him $9.8 $8 million of his deal, which mean they would be immediately shedding another $10 million off their salary cap. Doing so would put them $800,000 under the first apron. So to be able to go from $19 million over the second apron to under the first apron with one move is very beneficial to Boston. And the fact that they only have to lose Hower and then older older Drew Holiday really sets them up well for the future because think about it. Boston can go into next season. They won’t be great because they just traded Drew. They won’t have Tatum. They won’t be a super great team. They might be a playoff team. Maybe, maybe not. Uh but they won’t be great. And they do fortunately own their 2026 first round pick. So they’re okay not being great next season. Now, if if this is the only move they make, they would still have Porzingis in this scenario, but he’s an expiring deal, meaning that the following off season, they would have another $30 million come off their books, which would allow them to be players in free agency in the summer of 2026, which is also good for them because Tatum would be returning the following regular season. So Jason Tatum will be returning at age 28, Jaylen Brown at age 30, Derek White at age 32, and boom, that’s your core right there for the future with the cap space that they’ll now have because they’ll no longer have Holiday on the books or Porzingis, plus whoever they draft with their 2026 pick, which should be relatively high, and they can get a pretty good piece there. And that’s pretty much all of the financial benefits. But in addition to that, I also have the Miami Heat sending that Warriors pick which Boston can use to add a nice piece to their core right now also to build around Tatum and Brown going forward. And at this stage of Drew Holidayiday’s career with the money that he’s due, I really don’t think he’s worth more than a first round pick. So I think this is very fair value for Boston and has some pretty great financial benefits for them as well. Moving on to the Phoenix Suns, they would be receiving Andrew Wiggins, the expiring contract of Terry Rosier, Nicole Yovic, Kamehameh Hakez Jr., and two first round picks from the Miami Heat. Now, getting the Suns under the second apron was by far the hardest part of this trade, and I was able to get them under by about 600,000 by waving and stretching also, which truthfully the Suns may not want to do. They spent the 40th overall pick on him last year. And he did play. He played 61 games as a rookie, about 17 uh minutes per game. So, nothing super substantial. And he wasn’t great either. Only averaged four points per game. So, nothing crazy. But if the Suns really want to keep him, there is other avenues to get them under the apron. This is just the one way that I picked. Uh, another way could be they they don’t have to accept Jame His from the Heat. I’m just assuming they would rather Jame Hame instead of Oso just because Jame Hame has been better in the league so far. And it’s not like Oso is super young either. He’s one year younger than Jame Hz by the time next season starts. So I don’t think either guy necessarily has more potential than the other. But Jame His has been a better NBA player. He has more value because he was a former first round pick. I’m just assuming that the Suns would have rather have him. So, of course, the best assets that the Suns will be getting here is Yoic and the two first round picks from the Miami Heats. I think Yoic could fit very well in their system. They he he can provide a a secondary ball handler to Devin Booker, provide some spacing, can keep up the speed of that team. And I do think he has potential because he’s a 610 big man with a shot and would handle. I think a lot of teams would be interested in Yovic. So, I do think he has some pretty decent trade value. Uh, and then of course for a 36-year-old Kevin Durant on an expiring deal, I think getting a nice young player, maybe not superstar potential, but long-term starter potential in Nicole Yoic. I think getting that guy and two first round picks for an older guy on an expiring deal, I do think that’s tremendous value, but we’ve already talked about that a ton in our previous other several Kevin Durant videos. Uh the Terry uh Terry Rosier contract that they’re going to be getting. Uh it’s not as bad as it looks just because it is expiring, meaning that next off season the Suns will be opening up another $26 million from their salary books. Uh and then Andrew Wiggins, he has a couple more years left, making $30 million. So not as long as the Bradley Bill contract. It’s not as bad as that. It’s not as much money as that, but there is a few years left on that deal. But fortunately, I still think Andrew Wiggins is a serviceable player. So, if the Suns are trying to be relatively competitive now, get some other pieces around Booker. I do think Wiggins is a guy that could play for them right now because he’s still a good complimentary player to a guy like Booker because he’s a good two-way player. Or maybe the Suns could play Wiggins the first half of the season and then flip him at the trade deadline for maybe a first round pick, maybe a few seconds. It truthfully depends how he plays. but I don’t think he’s a negative contract at this point. Now, moving on to the Detroit Pistons. I have them taking on the contracts of Misich and Sam Hower. I use the Pistons because they were the team with the lowest cap sheet last season, but I also think these contracts are nice for them. The Misich one is honestly kind of insignificant just because he has a team option. So, the uh Pistons could immediately terminate that option right after trading for him. The reason the Suns have to move off of him is because they have to send out a certain amount of money because they are an above apron team. So the Suns couldn’t just wave them their theirelves. But if the Pistons don’t want Misitch, they could cut him right away. Now the other player that the Pistons are getting is Sam Hower, who I think is actually a perfect fit for them as a shooter. Uh, I think he has a great value contract making $10 million for the next four seasons, which is basically basically going to be nothing when that salary cap spikes in a few years. He’s a career 42% three-point shooter, which is awesome. And he’s only 27 years old, so he fits the Pistons young timeline pretty well. Now, of course, the Pistons had a couple of shooters last year, one of them being Tim Hardaway Jr., who was an expiring deal. So, he might be gone if they’re not able to resign him. And he was okay last year. I mean, 37% from three in the regular season, only 31% in the playoffs. So, he wasn’t great. But, he made $16 million last season. So, if he’s looking to resign with the Pistons, he might want something similar to that, which is already a lot more than what Sam Hower is guaranteed. Plus, Tim Hardway Jr. is already 33 years old, which is crazy to think he’s already that old. I feel like he was just drafted yesterday, but he’s already 33, so he doesn’t fit the Pistons young timeline as well as Sam Hower. And also, just truthfully, I think Hower is a better fit for that team. He’s a much better offball player than Tim Hardway, and I think that works really well in a Cade Cunningham system. Of course, the other shooter that the Pistons had last year was Malik Beasley, who was also an expiring deal. So, same issue as Tim Hardaway. He might not be back. It’s been widely public publicized that Malik Beasley loves it in Detroit. He was great in the regular season, 42% from three, not as great in the playoffs at at 34%, but he made only $6 million last year. So, he could be a cheaper resigning option than Tim Hardway Jr., maybe even cheaper than Sam Hower. Uh, but I think the Pistons could afford and should probably sign resign Malik Beasley and trade for Sam Hower. I mean, I think that’s a great pairing of shooters to put in that Cade Cunningham system. And they would also provide spacing for their many non-shooters like Jaylen Duran, Assar Thompson, and Ron Holland. So, I think he’s a great fit. Now, for the Miami Heat, it’s simple. I mean, once again, think about that lineup of Drew Holiday, Tyler Herro, Kevin Durant, Baming about, and Khalil Wear. You got scoring and defense in the back court, scoring and defense in the front court. You got size, rebounding, floor spacing, elite go-to star, so maybe you could finally win a clutch game and not blow another 20-point lead night after night after night. Truthfully, I don’t see a weakness in that starting lineup. And I think that’s self-explanatory. Like, if y’all think I’m tripping, let me know down below what what some weaknesses would be. But I think that unit would be perfect. And then don’t discount the fact that you’re getting Royce O’Neal, who is a gritty Heat culture type of guy. Uh, and the Heat definitely need more heat culture guys after that was slipping last year. Uh, he’s an excellent 3 and D wing. shot 41% from three last year. And here’s a pretty fair contract, too, making 10 million uh dollars per year for the next three years. And I think it might be beneficial for the Suns to kind of move off of that, too. Uh because why would they want long-term money uh when the owner is always trying to make splashy deals in in free agency? I just thinking think getting that long-term money off the books to give the Suns flexibility as they go into the rebuild could be beneficial for them. But for the Heats, they’re going to try to win now. Yeah, that’s a fair value contract for Royce O’Neal certainly. And then joining him on the bench, you still got Haywood Highmith. It’ll be the last year of his deal, but he’ll still be a fine enough backup wing. Hopefully, you can resign DaVon Mitchell. Uh after this trade, the Heat would still be $12 million under the second apron. I’m hoping DaVon goes in the 8 to 12 million range. So truthfully, it would be cutting it. Whether they can it’ll be cutting it close whether they can afford to resign DaVon Mitchell after this. I do think it’s possible, especially if Mickey Harrison is willing to go deep into the second apron, which he’s always said he’s he would be willing to do for a contender. Well, now would be the time. So, it’s still very possible they can resign DaVon Mitchell even after this trade. So with him and Royce and Haywood off your bench, you would also still have Kevin Love, Kyle Anderson, and Pella Larson. Now, it’s not the best bench. I’m not going to lie to you. I certainly think it’s serviceable considering how dominant that starting lineup should be. My biggest concern off the bench, I guess, would be the backup bigs. Uh what we do expect Kevin Love to return. He’ll be cheap. He’s said as much. Kyle Anderson’s already under contract for about $10 million. But neither one of those guys is super big. Uh I do trust Kyle Anderson to play. I I kind of like what he did last year, but he kind of played like a point forward coming off the bench. They they played him at center, but for obvious reasons. I I don’t like him at backup center, and who knows how much Kevin Love can actually contribute on the court this year. He missed a lot of time last year for the personal reasons, but like I said, we know he’ll be back, but whether he’ll contribute on the court or not is still a question. So, you’re going to need some size off the bench. It’ll be interesting to see how the Heat spend the rest of their money or if there’s even any quality backup bigs available, but the Heat would still need one. I don’t know who that would be at this point. And it’s it’s not likely they’ll find someone good because if you think about the cheap backup bigs the Heat have got recently, they’ve all sucked. Dwayne Deadman, Cody Zeller. I know I’m missing several others, but you get my point. It’s hard to find a quality backup big, which they probably still need. But maybe they find another undrafted diamond in the rough like Assan Whiteside. I I don’t know. Maybe it’s Kashad Johnson and they play him as a 66 backup center. I don’t know. I would hate that. I love Kashad Johnson and I do think he’ll be back next year and maybe he can play a a rotation role coming off the bench uh if the Heat’s pocketbooks get a little bit tight. But yeah, they’ll definitely need some size. But overall, I think that this roster could easily contend in the East. So, I say get it done, you know, if if it’s possible. Multiple team trades are very difficult to do, but I think every team would in theory say yes to this. So, if I’m Miami and it’s out there, I say you got to East with no Tatum because of his injury. Giannis is potentially going west. Go make a splash. Try to get it done and see if you can make the finals next year. And then whatever happens after that happens. But let me know all your thoughts down below. Who do you think says no to this trade? Do you like it from a Miami Heat perspective? If you don’t, feel free to drop some modifications to what you would change in this trade down in the comments below. Make sure to like the video and subscribe cuz all the support is greatly appreciated. That being said, I’ll see you on the next video. So, peace out everyone. Do it on my own. [Music] month. Yeah, I need a head space. You know this homegrown don’t a fan.

What is the ceiling of a Jrue, Herro, KD, Bam core?
I’ll take d white over jrue at this point couple seasons ago after the dame fumble I would have easily taken jrue as consolation prize until Boston swooped in and scooped him up but today I’ll take d white if Boston willing to shed anyone not named JT or Jaylen
I respect you wanting to win now. I honestly think we should try shedding capping and starting younger. Building around the same time
We ain’t getting shi
Man I’m actually curious if we can trade expiring contracts (rozier, Duncan Robinson)and afford a Jaylen Brown trade if the Celtics try to salary dump
Yes to KD. No way on jrue
need to trade herro it doesn’t matter who his backcourt mate is.
ant jrue’s contract is trash we shouldn’t give any 1’s for his washed play. especially the back end of it
Awesome video brother!! I just wouldn’t part ways with Jovic
Why do the Heat want two guys one turn away from retirement ? Worst to give up picks we dont have for them
Jrue wasn’t even good this year. KD hasn’t been doing a lot of winning, and neither have we. 3 wrongs don’t make a champion.
The best teams all use depth, and are just the most well-coached. They have everyone in the rotation playing at Davion’s level. They are connected. And they are younger than ever.
I’m honestly going to be done with the Heat if they can’t look around the league to figure out what’s working. Trading for KD or Jrue, at their age on their contracts, is the complete opposite of what’s been proving to be successful.
Trade won’t work just dreaming
Holiday is a bad shooter why not keep mitchell? 😏
I would remove the first round pick for celtics. they need to get under the cap for many reasons. Maybe 2nd round pick for it.
Admire the work you did. I'm just concerned for our second unit with : DMitchell (if re-signed), HH, KLove, Larson and maybe Burks. Who's going to lead the offense?
So, what's going on with Dru Smith? We have two guards…
Your dreaming if u think wouldn’t have to give up bam or herro..
Are we talking the same Jrue that just got abuse by the Knicks?
Coming from butler to KD is a downgrade
Jrue has regressed tremendously this year
Plus getting both KD And jrue is gonna cost a lot of we can see that OKC has depth pacers has depth we shouldn't focus on stars but rather a legit system we have talent in Bam and Tyler given they're not that great right now but they can be with the right system like the Pacers
🔥🔥🔥
I love it
Hopefully they can make it happen
If the Heat does anything close to this then maybe they're as inept as fans say they are. The Suns blundered their way into their present situation and the Celtics thought they were smarter than the room and with 1 championship to show for it. All this would do is bail them out while the Heat gets stuck once again. At best this is a 1 season wonder and in 2 years they're on the outside looking in.
Giving away your expiring contracts and every remaining draft pick helps the other team not Miami… This
Suns fan here, to be honest its not bad but i would say the suns would probably pish hard for kelel ware being in this deal to them for sure
If rhe Heat can get Rasheer Fleming for the 20th pick, the Heat won't have to get Jrue Holiday because they will have a younger and bigger Jrue Holiday plus the kid is a lot cheaper than Jrue Holiday! Rasheer Fleming can defend, shoot threes, and also has insane length! The Heat should keep the RF and just get KD and we re all set!
