Houston Rockets Postgame: Amen Thompson Talks Game 7 Loss
I mean, I know that you guys are crushed right now, but how proud are you of this team just as a whole for what you guys were able to accomplish? Yeah. Um, you know, that one hurts, but I’m really proud of the team. Um, I’m getting it back to that game seven, almost being able to win that game. Um, but man, how would you sum up your season and what’s the next step for you with the summer coming up working on the game? what some of the things you look at you um I mean this furthest I ever got so that’s a step obviously in the second year and just um want to use this motivation you know feeling hurts to lose like that just um you know there’s a lot to work on obviously and um hopefully you take away from your first playoff experience and you know how the game changes in the postseason what you can do adjust in the future. Um it’s just more intense, but um can’t let that stop you from playing basketball. It’s still basketball at the end of the day. Um yeah, kind of to that point, you guys had like 30 some odd miss shots in the game. Were they doing anything in particular to make it really tough to finish tonight? I think we were just missing shots. I don’t think they were doing anything different today. We’re just missing the easy ones, easy. Anything else in the back? Hey, I mean, uh, you talk about, you know, using that as motivation and and looking to get better during the summer in today’s era of a lot of three-point shots. Maybe how important is the elevator in the mid-range and and try to maybe attack that way. Um, I think it’s super important, you know, like I feel like I can get wherever I want, especially in the mid-range area. So, um, that’s something I work on, something I’m happy with my steps with. Danielle, how do you look at the jump that this team took overall from last year to this year? And do you think that that can be replicated from this year to next year? Yeah, I mean, I’m proud of the team. You know, we didn’t make playoffs last year. this year with the two seed going against um a bunch of Hall of Famers and um came close. But I mean next year I feel like we’ll have that experience, you know, coming into the playoffs. Like we all have been there at this point, you know what I mean? A lot of our rotation guys, we got three that even been to the playoffs. So rest of us are young, so we can split off that. Great. Thank you. Thank you.

🐐🐐🐐 – bro has that DNA in him. Kawhi type of DNA. When we get a legit scorer next to him, he’s going to be sooooo dangerous.
Super star in the making. No 1
Y’all got something with this one
Thompson sengun and Jabari are the heart and soul of this team. The core of this team. They better be untouchable!! All 3 guys proved that they are not afraid of the big stage. So happy those 3 guys are rockets.
Amen showed up tonight. Loved to see that. Him, Sengun, Jabari, Reed and Tari should be untouchable this off-season.
He needs to improve his handle and shot making.
Dude is younger than Jalen but everyone making excuses for Jalen cuz “he’s still young”.
Keep Sengun, Amen, Jabari and Tari. Do anything to get Trae Young and maybe KD if we can get him for cheap, we cannot bring Giannis if we’re thinking about keeping Amen and Sengun.
dirty as player go home to Cancun😂😂
Still proud of Amen❤
Like u said to GP2 “H03 ahh 🥷🏽” 🤣🏆🏆🏆🏆
Amen, Fred, and sengun. Showed up to play overall all series. Sengun needs to stop crying for fouls throwing his hands up and finish making a play.
This kid is ELITE
Amen is a beast, much respect from a Warriors fan. Take care of that calf bro.
They cheated tried too kill jimmy break steff finger dirty players im glad you lost
Now all that! And you are going home
Dirtys cheaters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😮
We need Amen Thompson in GSW next season. Please trade off Kuminga to Amen Thompson next season.
amen youre still young, you have more years to play, im a gsw fan, take good care of yourself,
Bros a stud!!!!
Dillon is nowhere to be found! We're all shocked a coward is a no show when it's time to answer for all that noise he was talking. Serves the rockets right for ever paying that clown
Dillon Brooks is a veteran who has played in the playoffs before, and he was nowhere to be found in this game 7. Jalen Green had one great game in game 2 and was a no-show the rest of the series. Amen Thompson has star potential, but he has to work on shooting the basketball and on his free throws. He's just a raw athlete right now. He scores in transition on athleticism.
Cheapshotting wanna be’s, that’s all you rockets will ever be long as you got the clown brooks over there it’s gonna be a trashy circus
Like I said before he got drafted… the kid will be a superstar
Lost to a senior citizen warriors team and buddy hield enjoy over paying for kd and loosing all your assets 😭😭😭🤣🤣
Bay area proud! Get em next time Amen.
Being young is not a disadvantage in nba. Remember when gsw was a young team. They are really strong. The veteran teams got no answer to their energy
Jabri and Thompson Amazing players!! Jabri should of got more minutes!
Im a Dubs fan. I had no doubt we would finish them! But this young man gone be a problem!
Lol media seemed a little scared of amen, he was puking them like he punked gsfloppers
This dude and countless others are the reason that the NBA is unwatchable and NCAA B-Ball, is following suit.
You can't follow the standout players in college for more than one season, they can't run a 3 on 2 or 3 on 1 fast break without settling for a 30ft jumper or throwing the ball out of bounds trying to do an alley-oop.
No post up skills, nor can they master the Art of making a wide open 10-15 foot shot.
SAD!
No true Basketball fundamentals.
Ime made a mistake putting Amen ahead of Cam Whitmore' development. Don't get me wrong, I like Amen for his defense and thats really it: his defense.
He is no PG. He is not a Scorer. He cant carry an offense. He cant shoot and he's agile, not athelic.
Cam definitely should have been prioritized over Amen. Its not even a debate! Cam is superior to Amen, offensively.
Just that Ime forced this trio of Sengun/FVV/Amen on us when they never earned it. Its wrong! Its a flawed trio, and they are not the best, offensively.
Guys like Cam and Bari is superior to Amen. Amen should DEFER to those guys, and so should Sengun. And FVV should prioritize Green, Bari and Cam over Amen and Sengun.
But I fault Ime. Rockets fans are about to learn the bad side of Ime. Cam warned us earlier in the season when he said about Ime:
" He doesn't care about offense. It means nothing to him."
Understand what Cam said there. Ime does not care about offensively-gifted players. This is why you see bonehead decisions where he pulled Bari from the starting 5 for Amen whom is not a winner and cant win you games like Bari can.
Y'all think J.Green regressed? Naw, he didnt regress. He quit on IME! Thats what he did, and he did it for his self-respect.
Ime took the team from Green and gave it to Amen when Amen cannot win us games like Green can. We got blown out in GM 7. Thats on Ime! It should teach his bonehead azz a lesson.
But the Rockets' rebuild is about to get screwed up by Ime and Rafael Stone. They both believe in these one-dimensional talents like Amen, Tari, Sengun to the detriment of superior talents loke Green, Cam, Bari.
Amd it will get to the point where Stars wont come to Houston because of Ime. We will be seen like the Surs under Pop.
Superstars love Pop from a distance but wouldnt prefer to ppay for him because he doesnt value offensively-gifted players. He put defense first to a fault.
Ime is his protege. That means bad news for the Rockets. That means Stone will be willing to trade valuable pieces like Green, Cam, Bari and keep pieces like Amen, Tari, D . Brook and average offensive players.
We will look like a boring team just like the Spurs teams be. And that has never been our identity. We about to realize, Tillmam, Stone and Ime are not Les Alexander, Daryl Morey and M.D'Antoni. The golden years of the Rockets after Hakeem.
We going back to having n athelic freaks on the squad but a bunch of defensive, one-trick ponies that get us nowhere. Its sad.
Our only hope at this point is for fans flood in emails to Stone complaining about Ime' style of ignoring great offensive players for one-dimensional defensive players.
We have to tell him to tell Ime to put our athelicism offensive players on the rotation and run the offense through them, not through Sengun, Amen and Tari.
He’s not just a dog. He’s a demon
Where's Dillion interview?
He looks pissssed I can't wait till he unseats curry and his refs
Just need a jumper and more
ISO moves to reach Superstar level. He already knows how to play the game at a high level- making the right reads, defense, rebounding, positioning etc..but yes, he needs to work on his offense.
this man plays dirty
you cant deny greens talent and scoring.Wouldnt be number 2 seed without him.Shouldnt trade him just because he hasnt found his flow in the post season his FIRST TIME.Thats ridiculous. That being said,he may not be the juggernaut he think he COULD and STILL can be,we dont know, but would be smart to obtain a big time scorer.
