Just how good is OKC’s defense? 🔒

Does this year’s Thunder team actually have an argument to be the greatest defensive team ever? Okay, so that sentence might sound kind of ridiculous, but when you consider the era we’re playing in and how good these NBA offenses are, I mean, how can you not at least consider it? Not to mention, they have the best playoff defensive rating in 6 years. This team is legit. One hyperbolic statement I do feel good about is that I don’t think we’ve ever seen a team with this many plus plus defensive guards. But greatest defensive team ever, I mean, let’s slow down a little bit. If we’re going off the numbers, the 75 Bullets have the best defensive rating ever. And to me, the 04 Pistons, especially given what they did to that Lakers team in the finals, is still the best we’ve ever seen. And there are just so many other teams, and maybe this makes me the old head, but I just can’t justify putting the Thunder over. What really separates it is one, rebounding. This Thunder team isn’t a elite rebounding team. And two, just kind of like general toughness. But all that to say, if this team does win the finals, they absolutely deserve a seat at the

  1. What is the argument for the KD Warriors being a "good" defensive team? Let alone a great one? Like, i cant justify putting them there when Curry was such a traffic cone on defense? But what are your thoughts on why it's the 2nd best defense of all time?

  2. 107 allowed in the regular season 106 in the postseason multiple 80 point games and multiple blowouts with player making all defensive, some borderline, and some that would’ve made it if filling game requirements we have not seen a more dominant defense than the 2025 Okc thunder

  3. i think okc could be i think theyd be in debate with that bulls team who basically had 3 arguable top ten defenders oat/in the league

  4. i think okc could be i think theyd be in debate with that bulls team who basically had 3 arguable top ten defenders oat/in the league and 2004 pistons

  5. They have an argument to be the greatest team of all time in my opinion. If not then they would at least be the most dominant team of all time

  6. You cannnot tell me that they are no looking at advanced stats to build this team. Hartenstein was the ebst defenive player last season . Not a single youtuber said it or even mentioned it or an media. How would they know to get the highest impact defenders from the last 2 years. Caruso bejnf the other 1. Not coincidence. Next they will suddenyl be hunting for kris dunn fir "no reason" or the thomlson twins which arebnoth in top 5

  7. Bubble Lakers is underrated i feel like they couldve gone to the finals if they didnt destroy their roster Rob Pelinka is a fraud who just waste young talents

  8. Talks about rebounds and chet and hartenstein missed a good portion of the season as his only reason they dont have good defense. This is absolutely laughable at this point. It's ok to hate on a team but common man. Blocks, steals, deflections, and turnovers don't count just rebounds do seriously.

  9. If they dismantle this Pacers offense, I'm definitely putting them up there, especially over the "75 Bullets" whoever that is…

  10. They demolished the Minnesota offense that demolished the warriors defense of course they are good, they also slowed down Jokic

  11. 2004 Pistons are still that team. Admittedly I am probably a bit bias I grew up in Detroit and went to a a good bit of games as a child but they were known for their clamps.

  12. The rebounds thing is a tough argument because none of those previous defenses had to guard 5 3pt shooters on the floor at all times. The modern offense has changed the type of personnel you need on the floor to be a great perimeter defensive team, I.e. no big slow centers who inhale rebounds.

  13. As a warriors fan, yes the KD warriors were an elite team in both ends, but I don’t think they crack the top 5 here

  14. Top 5 I think they have a case for this video does feel like your bitter about the thunder a little their defo a top 10 defence ever don’t think there’s much if a case for them not being.

  15. It’s hard to compare defense against different time periods. You wouldn’t build a team like OKC defnesively in the 90s. You would lean more towards more big man than guards. And vice versa. Defenses are built in relation to the style of offense that is being played. I’m not saying certain defenses couldn’t translate to other eras but you would certainly struggle due to how the offense at the time was being played

  16. The KD warriors were an absolutely amazing defensive team, but I can’t put them top 5 all time and I would say this okc team is probably better, they have better perimeter defense then any of these other teams and possibly #1 all time.

  17. Bro, I've always considered Caruso one of the top elite guard defenders in the league, but after watching him single-handedly shut down the Joker in game 7 I now view him as possibly the best defender in the league period.

  18. Any team before 1990 might as well not exist. We don’t care about the stats of teams playing in what is basically a completely different league.
