The OKC Thunder Are Hiding A Monster
she Gilgis Alexander Jaylen Williams Chet Holgrren Isaiah Hartenstein and Alex Caruso The OKC Thunder were the deepest and the best team in the NBA all season long And when you have 10 guys who can play on any given night I mean Kenrich Williams didn’t play the entire Denver series but when he needed to play in game one against Minnesota he made an impact When you have that kind of depth and when you have the MVP of the league some people are going to get overlooked Early in the season that was Alex Caruso but after his series against Denver and Minnesota he’s definitely not being overlooked anymore But there was one other player in that series against Denver who had a similar impact to Caruso with his elite defense his timely shots and the ability to do things like this as well Here’s Wallace Goes it Yo he throws it down That is Queson Wallace Oh you know that big three OKC have with Shay Chad and JDub all being 26 and under Queson might not be that level but I promise you at 21 years old he would be seen as the future of numerous franchises in the NBA On OKC well he’s just another guy Or at least that’s what you might think But that is only because this is one of the best defenses and teams we have ever seen Oh and you want to know why they are one of the best defenses ever it’s because they have guys like Kesan and Alex Caruso coming off the bench who would be the best defensive players on most teams in the league Just look at him here where Connley kicks it out to Ant Wallace closes out really aggressively but watch as Ant goes to gather Look at those hands knocking the ball away at its most vulnerable point Just the quickness to swipe down In slow-mo it looks somewhat believable But when you see it at a regular speed you realize he’s not normal And that’s not even the best of what he can do Watch this play right here Russ gets the screen from Jokic Wallace gets held up on the screen And he looks completely dead from the play But look at that swipe You can’t even see it on first glance but it is Wallace’s ability to swipe the ball down just as Russ is about to explode that makes it slip out of his hands Well look at him this time against Murray And this is just genius He tracks Murray around the screen And with Chad helping over look at him with his hands behind his back before then just casually stripping him from behind I’m now realizing that terminology sounds kind of crazy stripping him from behind But that’s what happened and that’s what Quesson Wallace does consistently Stripping people from behind in front the side it doesn’t matter When it comes to quick hands I haven’t seen a combination like Alex Caruso and Queson Wallace Well I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a combination like that purely from a hands perspective And then there’s the anticipation This time the ball fumbles around to Devincenzo on the perimeter and with Gobear seemingly open in the paint He throws it in But look at the timing from Wallace to creep up behind him and just effortlessly swipe down And it’s this kind of anticipation that makes him a special defender It’s one thing to do it against Rudy Gobear who well isn’t the most coordinated or skilled centered in the league to say the least How about doing it against someone who is the complete opposite in that department as he gets Jokic from the blind side off the Murray pick and roll and then finds Carroso running the floor for the layup There is a reason there have been games this playoffs including the Western Conference Finals where in just his second year Kase Wallace has played upwards of 30 minutes a night It is because you can’t teach some of the defensive skills he has Alex Caruso has been so incredible alongside Chad Homegrren and then Lou Dort that it almost gets overlooked But I guarantee you if you put him on 29 other teams he is at worst their second best defender And on most of those teams people would be talking about him like he is one of the futures of the franchise And it’s one thing for me to say all of this How about Alex Caruso saying it like Casem Wallace has blocked the most jump shots this year in my entire eight years in the league combined Like he has just an insane knack Yeah I came up with a I came up with a nickname for him the other the other day I think it’s going to be All State Okay He does have good hands Queso has great hands And whilst his defense is clearly the reason he plays minutes it’s not like he’s a scrub on offense And game one against Minnesota was a good example of why he has more potential than people might assume Wallace alienstein It’s pretty safe to assume that he’s going to be one of the best defenders in the league for the next decade But offensively that is the real intriguing part of his game The scoring the shooting and like we saw in game one the playmaking goes inside throws it up and Taylor Williams with the flush And obviously when you are playing alongside Shay and Jdub and Shet Queson is practically never handling the ball So it’s about his ability to take advantage of their gravity and make quick decisions like here where he sets the screen for Jadeup He then smartly flashes to the middle of the floor and no hesitation with Reed helping over he knows Chad is wide open for three or here where again he slips the screen But look at the instincts The moment Wiggins’s pass gets deflected like always Queson wins that 50/50 ball against Connley and then the presence of mind to make the nice bounce pass back to Chad for the dunk I think this is also why it’s hard for people to see the star potential of a player when they’re on such a good team because you only get glimpses If Wallace is playing in Washington he probably averages 12 shots a night and 15 and six a game But just knowing he is already someone who you can trust to play 30 minutes in a Western Conference Finals I promise you that means a lot more than if he was putting up 20 and eight a game on some terrible team in the Eastern Conference And Sheay said the same kind of thing after game one verse Minnesota Queso played point guard in high school and college You guys might forget that with his role in the NBA but he’s a really good basketball player and knows how to play And we’re seeing him grow as the games go on And as a scorer in these playoffs Kesan has done two things and two things only He has attacked the rim in transition and he has shot the ball from three Not always that effectively but that’s all he’s really done That’s all the Thunder are asking for him Any possession where Quesson Wallace is handling the ball instead of JDub Shay or Chad let’s be honest is not an optimal possession But if he can either make plays using their gravity as a playmaker like I showed you hit spot up threes or get out in transition and take advantage of his defense that’s the kind of scoring that will make an impact for OKC And I know for a fact next season particularly in easier matchups we’re going to see him get more opportunities to handle the ball And I guarantee you he will take a lot of people by surprise with what he’s actually capable of doing Because you understand how rare it is for a player in their second year to play 20 plus minutes a game on a playoff team It doesn’t happen very often Just to give you an example over the last 3 years here are the names that have played 20 plus minutes a game in the playoffs as secondyear players Amen Thompson Chad Homegrren Assar Thompson Brandon PMsky Quesan Wallace Paulo Jd Dub Andrew Nemhard and Nicola Yoic And the year before Austin Reeves and Evan Mobley About 80% of those names are allstar kind of talent Generally speaking the only players in their first or second years to play serious minutes on a playoff team are the future of their franchises Quesson Wallace would be considered the future of this franchise if they didn’t have three AllNBA level players 26 and under This is just an embarrassment of riches Now if you want to see more videos like this going forward consider subscribing Dropping a like on the video would be much appreciated Most importantly have a great day Bye

I’ve yet to have the privilege to be so proud of a team.
Thunder nation stand up baby!!!
1:03 Pretty wild that our second and third best players were both born in the cities of the last two opponents we eliminated from the playoffs lol.
Presti should become Commissioner of NBA not silver
Presti PAY HIM HIS MONEY AFTER THIS SEASON DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE YOU MADE WITH HARDEN🗣️⚡️
man evb sleeping on isaiah joe
Haliburton will have difficult time with cason wallace guarding him, haliburtons weakness is good point of attack defenders
Don't forget 6'6 Serbian PG Nikola Topic is laying in wait after his ACL tear….dude was a potential top 2 pick before the injury and we stole him at 12…he's 19 lol Presti got several monsters hidden
OKC has 3 picks in the 2026 draft. I see a dynasty in the making.
thats Allstate, hes got good hands
His iq,timing and anticipation is what he is above all defensive player you can name, even caruso himself praise wallace for his defense
Well done video
No secret here in OKC!! Thunder in 5
Denver fans crying about refs allowing OKC to foul Denver players…. then a video like this gets made.
If not for Aaron Gordon heroics, Denver would have been done in 5.
I thought this video was going to be about Nikola Topic. He's played pro ball since he was 16, was MVP of the European and Adriatic leagues 3 times and he's still only 19 years old. He's currently recovering from a torn ACL but he'll be ready to go this summer.
OKC is hiding a monster in Nikola topic' but he got injured at the start of the season. OKC will be terrifying next year
They better sign him now and lock him up. Other teams will pay big for a player like him.
They really hiding Ousmane Zieng
I’ve been saying this guy was great from day one ❤❤❤
All this talk about those two and we also have 1st team all defense Lu Dort 😂 I love my team
this dude is something special
Cason rocks! And if Ajay Mitchell hadn't gotten hurt, he'd be nearly right up there too.
The elite scouting and management know EXACTLY who buddy is. The Thunder can’t give everyone a max contract on the team. Some of the backup bigs look extremely expendable to me.
They cant afford to keep him
Cason was huge for us his rookie year. Was better 3pt % wise. But i feel his defense play making and ball handling improved more
I have met cason before and he seems like an awesome human being wish him well. Hope he has a great career. He a a great player and a great guy, I don’t know what more you can ask from a person.
If his offense comes around to even 50% of his defense, this guy is going to be a MENACE for years to come.
Great video
