Top Two Charlotte Hornets Draft Targets | The Drive with Josh Graham
one week from tomorrow the NBA draft will begin it’s a two-ight event now night one on Wednesday night two is the second round on Thursday and the process of elimination continues for the Charlotte Hornets it seems that two names have emerged as the likely selections for general manager Jeff Peterson head coach Charles Lee and for this organization but let’s talk about who it probably won’t be the basketball world’s officially out on Ace Bailey they’re officially out on the Rutgers’s guard espn’s Jonathan Gavone now the latest to project Bailey falling outside the top five the Athletic released its draft rankings and Bailey was sixth in those rankings ruckers basketball and the Ringer again everybody seemed to have him number three on their board when the lottery happened but then the combine happened the ringer now has him fifth and he didn’t interview well in college he was listed at 6 foot10 now he’s 6′ 7 and 1/2 that’s a 2 and 1/2 in difference which is a really big deal there are concerns that he played for a really bad team and he’s getting a lot of the blame that Dylan Harper his teammate isn’t who’s set to be a top two pick so there’s a lot more risk that’s being seen for a guy being taken in the top four top five picks than the pros are being seen so now we’re kind of at the point with Ace Bailey that if Charlotte were to take him at number four it’d be surprising it’d be alarming you’d be thinking well are they about to trade LaMelo Ball the the roster fit piece doesn’t make the most sense but after reading what Gavon wrote in his mock draft today it seems that two players stand out for Charlotte in that spot at four and that is Duke’s Conanipple and Balor’s VJ Edgecom some food a gun and Conanipple but WD the day after the draft lottery when Hornet fans were bummed out they didn’t get Cooper and the sky falling and oh you can’t get a great player at four we said the best case scenario for Charlotte was VJ Edge come from Baylor he would fit perfectly he’d be the guy and it would seem that Charlotte agrees with that order that on their board they probably have VJ Edgecomb first and then Conanipple jonath Gavon’s mock has Philly taking VJ Edgecom now but in that portion of his mock he wrote this should Edgecom not be selected three most teams expect that Charlotte is going to draft VJ one pick later at number four mhm apparently Washington loves VJ Edgecom and they’re discussing the possibility of moving up to number four to number three to take VJ Edgecom then you get to Kanipple food a gun and Conanipple and there are several reports now that say that Charlotte really likes Kanipple and so does Utah who’s picking five so it seems in some order Will Dalton these are going to be the top five picks cooper Flag number one breaking news yeah the Dallas Dylan Harper number two to the San Antonio Spurs recorders basketball and then in some order it’s going to be VJ Edgecom and Khan Canipple and Kipple no no we already said Khan Kipple khan Kadipple VJ Edgecom my brother my brother and well come on Mike get in there probably not the fifth pick that’s become that becomes a question the wild card in this draft is Trey Johnson from Texas cuz when you watch this guy he hits crazy shots contested cons consistently this guy is an amazing shooter so it wouldn’t have shocked me if he went three it wouldn’t ch be if he goes four it would have shocked me if he goes five but then like well then does Ace Bailey go six does Utah do they consider Ace Bailey it It’s hard to figure that piece trey Johnson’s the one that can really shift the draft order a bit but you have Ace Balor Ace Bailey the faller and then you have the Flyer Trey Johnson in this draft but it does seem for Charlotte you pretty much know Conanipple or VJ Edgecom are going to be available at number four one of those two players and unless they surprisingly like Trey Johnson more than anybody else thinks they do likely going to be one of those two guys if it’s Ace Bailey we have some questions
