so could the Memphis Grizzlies be trading away Jiren Jackson Jr to the Philadelphia 76ers this 2025 NBA off season well here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fade awayworld.net the link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself but this trade would see the Memphis Grizzlies receiving Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers receiving Jiren Jackson Jr Zack Edy John Kchar a 2028 first round pick a 2030 first round pick a 2027 second round draft pick and a 2028 second round draft pick so my immediate thoughts are this is a tremendous trade for the Sixers to make now I know with the news of Desmond Bane going over to Orlando and them getting back a ton of draft capital this does make the most sense in my opinion to get rid of some more draft capital and then go after a star player so this would kind of be addition by subtraction here um but uh yeah I don’t quite get it like I don’t think a duo of John Morant and Joel Embi two players that are by the way fairly injuryprone uh those two guys playing together just doesn’t really make that much sense in my opinion for the long term as well as the short term of this franchise so a bit of a headscratching move if you ask me uh but if you are the Memphis Grizzlies I could understand maybe them wanting to you know use the draft capital to flip that get back a star player in return and kind of go through a bit of a new look that way so that would make some sense but in this scenario they’re getting rid of Jire they’re getting rid of Jiren Jackson Jr Zack Edy two very important big men to this team two pretty young big men on this team uh for an aging injuryp-prone big man and Joel Embiid plus you’re getting rid of draft capital as well in 2028 and 2030 i would just not do this whatsoever if I’m the Memphis Grizzlies now if you’re the 76ers what an absolute halt to get back in return and I would make this trade with no doubt in my mind uh Jiren Jackson Jr there is the contract uncertainty uh but this guy’s making you know I think like 20 million bucks next year nothing crazy they are going to have to probably extend him but if Jiren Jackson Jr can sort of provide more value than what Embiid has uh the last couple years in Philadelphia with just him being able to stay on the court which I believe he would be that’s a steal right there throw in Zack Edy throw in John Contrar throw in four draft picks two of which are first round draft picks and this would be a gigantic trade for the Sixers to make so having a core of Jiren Jackson Jr Zack Edy Tyrese Maxi Jared McCain Paul George as well this would be a super fun team to watch next year in Philadelphia whereas if you’re the Memphis Grizzlies having a Joel Embiid uh John Morant team is definitely risky and if this you know if these two can stay healthy it’s going to be awesome but will they stay healthy i just wouldn’t quite bet on that happening so in my opinion without a doubt the winner of this deal is Philadelphia but as always leave your thoughts
