Grading the Last 5 Raptors 1st Round Picks #nba #nbadraft #raptors

let’s grade the last five Toronto Raptors first round picks This goes all the way back to 2017 Their most recent one was Jacobe Walter out of Baylor with the 19th overall pick in the 2024 draft I’m going to give this a B Walter wasn’t as NBA ready as some of the other players that went after him So we spent some time in the Geek this year but had a strong end to his rookie campaign Then in 2023 they took another shooting guard in Grady Dick from Kansas with the 13th overall pick I’m going to give this an A minus Scrady Dick is going to be one of the best shooters in the NBA one day and I think has exceeded expectations so far 2021 they had the fourth overall pick and this wasn’t a layup to make They could have taken Jaylen Suggs John Duminger Josh Giddy They ended up taking Scotty Barnes a project out of Florida State I’m giving this an A+ He won rookie of the year from this draft class Maybe isn’t a top two guy from this draft class anymore but is definitely a foundational building block you want going forward Back in the 2020 draft they to Malachi Flynn out of San Diego State with the 29th pick I have to give this an F especially since Desmond Bane went one pick later And then the last pick we have here is in the 2017 draft It was the 23rd overall selection OGNobi out of Indiana I’m going to give this an A OG didn’t play for that 2019 Finals team because he was hurt but was a vital piece of that Raptors team going forward after that 2019 title squad They were able to trade him for RJ Barrett and Emanuel Quickley six years later So that is definitely going to warrant an A Let me know what team you guys would like to see me do this with
