You you remember you you said on there you said on this podcast before I thought they was gonna make it that the Hawks were 100% getting out going to make it to the second round. Yes. Some superstars, some faces of the league came out. So, what I want to do is let’s just we’ll just go back with the top 10. We’ll take what we’ve seen from 2018 through the 2425 season, which is almost coming to an end. By the time you people see this and hear this, the season will probably be at an end. But we want to upgrade the 2018 draft. So that’s seven years ago. How how would you redo? How would we redo? I like that. But let’s first draft. Yes. Drafted. Yes. The Hawks. Luca Dunie. He drafted him third. Luca Dunes was drafted third. Wow. By the Atlanta Hawks and of course traded to Dallas. Okay. Number four, Memphis Grizzlies drafted Jiren Jackson Jr. Man, he’s filled out, man. He’s like really he was skinny as heck when he was drafted. That man big now. Hey man, he he’s he’s a presence. He’s a presence in the paint and on the defensive end. Number five, Ice Boy. Hey, you got to do it. Got to do it now. Number five. Number 11, Ice Trey was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks and traded to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Luca Dunich and a lottery pick the next year. Right. All right. Number six, Mo Bumba. man. Even had a song named after him, man. I ain’t gonna lie. Like, he was available in free agency. I was hoping we’d get him. Hey, man. Mo Bomber to the Orlando Magic. Number seven, Wendle Carter Jr. Okay. To the Chicago Bulls. Number eight, Colin Ston. Okay. To the Cleveland Cavaliers. You know what I liked about him when he was like when they drafted him? He’s like, “Come on, LeBron. Come to Cleveland. Play with me. We get another one.” I remember that. Yeah, that that was pretty dope. Mhm. Number nine, the New York Knicks selected Kevin Knox. And that wasn’t that wasn’t the best player they selected. Well, no, they didn’t. That Yeah, I got you. And then number 10, you like Kevin Knox. You some You told me a story about Kevin Knox. I mean, he looked like he could be promising a little bit in his first year or two, but he never really found his footing in New York. He end up over here with the Hawks for a season. Remember, he was part of the Cam Reddish trade. He came back. He came back as part of that Cam Reddish trade with a first round pick. Didn’t stick with the Atlanta Hawks. I don’t know what team he’s on now. We can look that up. And number 10, drafted by the 76ers and traded to the Phoenix Suns, MueL Bridges. Okay. Other notable players in that draft who didn’t go in the top 10, number 11 was Shay Gil, SGA. Uh number 12 was Miles Bridges. 14 Michael Porter Jr. 17, uh, Deven Chenzo. Uh, 19, only if you’re a Hawk fan, Kevin Hurdle. I ain’t like Kevin Hurdle was bad. 21, Grayson Allen. Grayson Allen. Uh, he’s a he’s he’s a he’s Orlando, right? Where’s he at? No, last last time I I don’t remember where he is now. I know he was with the Bucks. I got to look it up. U, then you had uh Anthony Simmons with the Trailblazers. He could light it up. Uh, Landry Shamid with the 76ers. uh he can hit from three. Omari Spellelman with the Hawks. And then the most notable draft pick from the second round uh was Jaylen Brunson. Yeah. I I I remember when Denver selected Michael Porter Jr. He had he like a back injury. I think he would have went higher. Mhm. He had some back surgery and they didn’t know if he would um you know be the same because he’s like the number one McDonald player all-American when he was in high school. I was I was thinking Denver got a steal when they when they drafted him in 14. A lot of people were a lot of people know like myself because of him and Trey played together was hoping he might fall to that 19th pick and and he got well how far how far did I say he got again? What he went? He went 14. You remember um when Trey first started and he was like he had a horrible couple games. He’s like oh for this and for that just and then what Michael Porter Jr. He said keep that same energy. Yeah. He knew but that was his boy. They they played together. They won AA championships. They went around the country dominating teams. I hope I hope we can get him. I hope the Hawks can get Michael Porter Junior. I think that’d be a nice fit with us. Not Not saying Denver going to let him go. I’m saying who’s who spot is he going to take? I mean, you been You said Rich Shay was putting in the work. He is, but you trying to replace a replace. So 10. I’m going to go with Miles Bridges because Miles Miles Bridges used to like light it up on the Hawks when he was in Charlotte like again and again and again. I know I know a lot of y’all know him because of who his baby mama is. But when it come to basketball, the the Britney uh Rena. Okay. Uh that that’s a bad she play for the Hawks now, right? Like, when he when he gets hot and start hitting them threes from deep, man, like he he can really light the stat sheet up. All right, coming in at number nine, I’mma go with Deven Chenzo, man. I’m going to go with Devenzo from what I remember. Devenzo was with the Bucks. Think he got a ring with the Bucks. Think he a solid player, tough player, man. I I really like Deven Chenzo. Dven Chenzo is not what you would consider a stat stuff or anything like that, but he’s 100% one of the glue guys who can help your team elevate and become a winning team. He can hit shots when they need to be hit. He definitely plays his role. So, I’m going to go with D Chenzel. Number eight, I’m going to go with Michael Porter. I’m go with Michael Porter. I like Michael Porter. Uh has has the talent to become a star. Hasn’t quite become that yet, but at the same time, he’s not in a role where that’s demanded of him. when when you playing with the Joker and you playing with Jamal and then even this year when they brought in Russ it’s not required of Michael Porter to be a star as long as he plays well and he can hit his shots when needed. Now he has struggled here and there with his shots sometimes. Sometimes he can have games where he’s on. Sometimes he’ll have games where he’s off and it’s like man you got a lot of talent. We need to see this every single night. All right number seven I’m going to go Aiden. Aiden was the number one pick. number one pick in the 2018 draft. He was number one overall. Uh but I’m I’mma put him down. I’mma put him down at number seven. The big man. He still can play even though Portland drafted a center to essentially take over the center. Uh what’s his name? Uh Klingan. Klingan. Donovan. Clinging. Yeah. So they brought him in the big man. I think he’s going to overtake that position. I don’t see. How did Klingan do this year? I think he had a good year. Okay. I think he had a good year. Now I don’t know his stats per se. I haven’t been following Portland like that to a tea, but but he had a pretty good year for a rookie. You know, at one time, um, they were saying that that was who the Hawks were maybe looking at at number one. Well, they they we need a big guy. We need a big guy. All right. And then number six, I’mma round off this this bottom five. And I hate to make it sound like that cuz this still is top 10 out of out of all the players that were drafted in the 2018 NBA draft. I’m going to go uh Male Bridges. Okay. I really like Male Bridges. He got mean got drafted by the 76ers. It was crazy cuz on draft night he gets drafted by the 76ers. His mom works for the 76ers. They interview his mom. She is so excited because the team that she has been working for drafted her son and she’s so excited. Oh my god, my son is going to be playing. We’re going to be working together essentially. He’s a player in the organization cuz she works for the organization. Right after that, probably about five, 10 minutes later, he gets traded to the Phoenix Suns. I know mom had to be like, “Really? Y’all drafted my son? Y’all traded him?” Yeah. Yeah. But he he goes to the Suns and uh hey man, they they made the finals. They end up losing game seven. Male Bridges is a good defensive player. Uh, and actually Male Bridges is a he’s he’s a good example to me of why why sometimes we shouldn’t get caught up in what players score or don’t score. And the reason I say that is when when the name Male Bridges comes up. Do you think of him as a scorer? I think of him as I mean, let me take you back when I when you saying Knox when I said you told me a story about Knox. Bridges was the one you talking about with the mother and all of that. That’s from I remember you talking about him a long time ago. Okay. So when you think about MueL Bridges the the scorer come so to show you how us and this is a good list for us and anyone else out there who does this. Sometimes we can’t get so caught up in the points that people score because we we immediately judge somebody and rank them on the points they score. Sometime it’s the system. It’s what’s asked of a player. Male Bridges in Phoenix, he wasn’t asked to be a scorer. And at this particular time, he’s not asked to be that type of scorer with the Knicks. But when he went to the Nets, D can you pull up what he averaged in his two to three years with the Nets, the boy was the boy was putting the ball in the hoop. Like I mean, he he put up 30 something on the house multiple times and and he has the Knicks in the conference finals right now. Well, I mean I mean he’s Yeah, he’s part of the reason. Yeah, he’s part of the reason. So I’m I’mma stop there. that. So my my list from 10 to six is Miles Bridges, Deven Chenzo, Michael Porter at number eight, Aiden at number seven, and MueL Bridges at number six. Okay. I like I like your list. What? 26 points per game. Averaged 26 when he was with the Nets. Wow. And then 20 another and then 20. So he averaged 26 per per for the whole year. Yeah. Yeah. Can you see what he average with the Suns? I bet it was in the teens. That’s crazy. But it just shows how he he had the talent. 134. You see what I’m So now if we went 10 points, if we went by his points, 13 points, you would be like, man, he only scored 134, but but then he went to a team, he got traded to a team that was part of the KD trade. He got traded to a team to where it was open. They all young guys trying to make their way and meal themselves up. It the shots were whatever for him. He he could go ahead and take them. I think I want to say uh was was Koozma on that team uh at the time that Koozman up on that? Nah nah Kzma went on that team but anyway uh MueL Bridges like light it up when he had the opportunity man. Yeah. So go ahead man you do you have do you have any uh opposing thoughts? I mean the only thing I worry about is your number nine. I can’t even say his name. Devin Chenzo. I really don’t know too much about him. Champion for who? I told you I think he won with the Bucks. He’s a point guard, starting point guard that can help you win games from the team that just drafted another point guard. I’m just saying Anthony. Anthony, shout out to Isaiah Car from the one. So when Ant-Man them lost, they asked Antman was he hurt. He said no, he wasn’t hurt. You know, he’s 23. He feel like he got a lot more chances at it. He said he was disappointed cuz he wanted to make it happen for Mike Conley and other players. So it’s been some people that come down on him, said that’s a loser uh thought process. They don’t understand why Ant-Man would say that. Bobby Poris from the Milwaukee Bucks who won a championship with with Deven Chinszo, you know, saying he came out. He was on Lou Will show. Uh, shout out Lou Will. He was on Lou Will show. Shout out the one that’s on FanDuel. But anyway, and he said and he wasn’t he wasn’t bashing Ant-Man in a in a disrespectful way. He was just saying he he didn’t he didn’t understand it. He didn’t like it. He didn’t think Ant-Man should have said that. And many others have said the same thing. Right after that, Giannis tweets Bobby Poris. He puts a tweet in and said, “Come on, Bobby. Uh, give him a break. Remember how we were at 23.” I thought that was real cool of Giannis to show the type of person Giannis is and where Yiannis head is. Like, we can get on TV and and we can talk about this player and and we we know what the mindset we think it should be, but don’t forget he just 23 years old before you come down on them out in the public. And you can tell they they friends and so that’s why he did it. But I just thought that was pretty cool that Giannis said that. Like it just it showed me to where Giannis head is at. He said, “Come on, Bobby, man. Give him a break, man. You remember how we were?” Yeah, I like that. I like that. Shout out to you, Giannis. Hope we can get him, too. Keep Giannis, Ant-Man, and Trey.
