Damian Lillard signs with Portland Trail Blazers over Celtics, Warriors 😱

Damen Lillard is returning to the Portland Trailblazers after getting waved by the Milwaukee Bucks and his contract stretched. He has signed a three-year $42 million deal to return to the Portland Trailblazers. And I mean there was every team in the league that had interest in Damian Lillard, but in particular the Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, teams like that. Contending teams had s serious interest in Damian Lillard. I think the Boston Celtics were the front runners, but the chance to return home to Portland where his kids are as well was an opportunity that he just couldn’t pass on. And he actually has a no trade clause in his contract as well. So, he will spend the next season rehabbing that Achilles injury in his home in Portland and then will return. And by the sounds of it now, they’re going to keep Drew Holiday as well. Hopefully this is a good reason for Drew Holiday to stick around in Portland and not, you know, request a trade or try and force his way out of there to a contending team. I mean, he still might do that, but clearly returning home and being closer to his kids was a better opportunity than trying to win a championship and go cuz Boston obviously the Eastern Conference is quite far away from Portland as well. And that’s one of the things he struggled with during his time in Milwaukee was being so far away from his kids. But you do love to see it. Damian Lillard passing up the opportunity to try and win a championship to return to Portland where he’s built such a great legacy.
