San Antonio Spurs Sign Micah Potter To A Deal

Yo, what’s going on, guys? And of course, we got to do the video for Micah Potter’s the training camp deal according to the source. Not your typical one. Let me pull it up right here. Just cue everything. But what we wanted to say before we continue today’s video is if you’re a Spurs fan, maybe a Mah Potter fan, what do you think of this sighting of this signing? Do you think he’ll make the roster right now? He’s kind of their fourth center. And do you think he’ll make the roster? Hit that like and subscribe button for more content like this. So, let’s go ahead and discuss what could potentially be made of this situation. So, Paul Garcia, who from a national standpoint isn’t as big of a reporter as other sources, seemingly is more of a local reporter for the Spurs. And he’s reporting that it’s likely a training camp deal. Brings the team’s roster to 18 players. He’s a center. They do have three spots remaining on the summer league roster as well as technically they could cut somebody from one of their two ways and bring in a different guy. Now, what does the current roster look like? Well, the current projected starting lineup using my work hoopshype.com as a reference right here. Dear Fox, Steph Castle, Devin Vel, Harrison Barnes, Victor Webbinyama more than likely seem seems to be the projected lineup there. Now, what is the depth chart with Micah Potter there? Now, Michael Potter isn’t listed on this one, but he would be slotted in behind Luke Cornett and Kelly Oolen. And obviously, Victor Webinama being the starting center. There could be a world where either Kell Johnson or Jeremy Sohan, maybe even Carter Bryant, if he excels as a rookie, pushes Harrison Barnes to or Demile to the second unit. But in the NBA, you can only sign three seasons of two-ways and or you can only be on a two-way during your first three years of service. Michael Potter is ineligible now to be on another two-way cuz he was one he’s in the NBA since 2021, which with Detroit, then he was with Utah in 2022, again in 2023, and then in 2024. Basically, he’s played four seasons. And even though with the hair the Harry Giles rule which gives you an exception that for some players who if they had one of their seasons sort similar to how Mr. Michael Potter’s first year with Detroit he didn’t really play that doesn’t count as a f full year of eligibility which allowed him to have a another two-way. though with him being on this roster, he could try to push. I’d have to assume that either Jordan Mclaclin or a Lindy Waters would be duking it out right here with Micah or Micah might just be trying to be on the training camp team. Because if you get an E10 and you play for the G-League syndicate or the G-League, not syndicate because they’re not a mob. They’re not over here racketeering and, you know, bootlegging alcohol saying, “Hey, old sport.” But either way, what I’m saying is that the affiliate, if he plays for the Austin Spurs, they’re not the Austin Toros. I’m talking Austin Spurs and little G- League DLeague reference. But if he does play for them, if he doesn’t make the training camp deal or doesn’t make the team on the training camp deal, which is a minimum contract that’s non-g guaranteed, that I do believe eventually does become guaranteed. If he spends 60 days on the GLeague team, he gets a $50,000 bonus, which ends up pushing him over or just at a hundred a six figure contract playing basketball in America. So, it’s worth it than going overseas. And this is a guy came out of college, played at Ohio State, the Ohio State, and then went to Wisconsin and was a really solid guy. play for the Sou Falls Sky Force was solid. Ended up getting a 10-day contract with Detroit. That led to him playing three years on two-way with the Utah Jazz. And he had some moments of like he actually seemed like a guy who could eventually be a decent reserve big in the NBA. You always need guys who are 7 foot or near 7 foot. He’s a guy who’s listed at 610, 240, 8. I see some places put him at 69. I put him 610 cuz he’s a little bigger than a Drew Eubanks. But kind of a similar archetype. If we want to go to another white center that had previously played for the Spurs, a Drew Eubanks could be somebody like that. Someone in 64 NBA games has averaged about four points, 3.6 rebounds per game in 15 minutes a night and over four G-League seasons. He’s shot 39% from three, almost 16 points and nine, nine rebounds, showing that he could be to stretch big, who has a little bit of passing chops, rebounding, pick and pop ability while stretching the floor, which makes him a strong candidate to make the camp if he does impress cuz he’s clearly an NBA player. If not, be on the G-League team to either sign with a different team or to sign with this team if an injury occurs. It just makes sense. So, to me, I want to hear your guys’ thoughts down below in the comments section. What did you guys think of this video? Did you guys like the signing of Micah Potter? And what do you think should happen? Should he make the camp or not? Now, I love that I just noticed that my camera is This whole time I’m looking at this. I’m like, “Oh, I last checked that this camera looked fine and I’m seeing what’s happening.” So, when I first put this, this wasn’t falling, but now it is. which then it goes like that. I am so mad. So, I’m going to have to edit this somehow. But that’s going to be it for me, guys. Hope you guys did enjoy. Like, comment, and subscribe. I also talked I felt like this whole time like this. So, that’s also going to be something that pissed me off. We’re editing this video. I I want to make it to the 8 minute marker now. So, we’re just going to we’re going to we’re going to talk right here. Little life update. We’ll use this moment to to do that. We’re moving into an office. Cheyenne, if you’re watching this, my hard drive got corrupted. Not corrupted, it’s like I’ve had to use disc drill to basically un It’s not being recognized by my MacBook anymore. I’m going to see if I can plug it into my PC and if it does anything or my iMac, if it gets recognized, but on my disc drill gets recognized. So then I can recover the files I need. And it was my travel external hard drive cuz if you’re well I don’t know where my other I have like five hard drives over here. A couple that I filled now I have a 4 terbte. The travel one’s a one or a two terabyte. Either way I digress. The whole purpose is is that any it finished editing CCTV. But I’m also in the I’m in my bedroom right now and I don’t record in my bedroom. I’m not using my typical mic setup and all that cuz this is the whole travel setup that we have right here due to the fact that I built an office. It done. It’s done. I need to go and set everything up and organize and put my desk together, which I’m about to do today. I just have to do work and walk my dog and make this video now edit this video. So, and I also need to be confident that I know this mic is going to pick me up because you want to talk into the mic like this, but I realizing that I’m just like talking like this, but I need to keep my face up. Wonder how I’m going to edit this. Definitely going to be an interesting one. Either way, you made it to the end. Let me know the whole does the camera look good? Do I sound fine? What improvements should be made? I also like using this slideshow than the other ones I was doing the other day. I think this one just looks better and I I enjoy it. And yeah, that’s that’s kind of where I’m going to leave that one cuz I think the whole whole set looks better when it’s like this and it gives us a little bit higher production value I feel like. But maybe that’s just me. I’mma go. Bye.

The San Antonio Spurs have signed center Micah Potter to a likely training camp contract, adding depth to their frontcourt as they prepare for the 2025-26 NBA season. Potter, an undrafted player from 2021, has shown solid production in the G League and flashes of NBA promise with stints at Detroit and Utah.

With a versatile stretch-big skill set, strong rebounding, and pick-and-pop ability, Potter looks to compete for a roster spot amid a Spurs team featuring young stars like Victor Wembanyama and Devin Vassell.

Cyro Asseo breaks down Potter’s signing, Spurs’ projected rotation, and what he brings to the team’s frontcourt.
