It seemed like you were laughing at the assassination at 42:10. I really hope that’s not what you were doing.
Balmer could have just paid the luxury tax back then and choose not to, even as the world's 6 richest man. Also Kawhi has been the worst possible investment for the Clippers.
5 First Round Picks, Kawhi's contract gets voided. Basically Joe Smith, that seems fair.
At the extreme end, do you think Steve Ballmer could lose the Clippers if fraud is discovered?
Clippers went from the worst owner in the league (for decades) to one of the best if not THE best. Been praying for a new owner for the Clippers since those Gary Grant, Manning, Charles Smith, etc. days and we got it with Balmer. But, looks like he's been caught in an extreme version of what they're saying isn't uncommon in the league. I would have had a lot of respect for him if he just came out and admitted it. This just adds to the "Clippers Curse". I've always been a Laker fan but I've been to more Clippers games (than Lakers) because I couldn't afford the Lakers games so I don't want to see the team destroyed by this but if little to nothing happens, it just seems like it's going to be a black cloud over the team for a long time.
I'm confused…I thought Goodwill moved to ESPN? Why is he doing a Yahoo pod?
I think it was 4x of all those “A” listers COMBINED…not solo
A fraudulent company designed to greenwash pollution used by the richest owner in the league to evade the fundamental rule that regulates fairness, competitiveness, and affects compensation for all players. Quelle surprise.
Vincent Goodwill and Amin! Much appreciated, I had no idea Yahoo still existed! Max fine for Balmer is $7.5M, which for him is like $10 for someone with $200k net worth…
What is Adam silver is getting paid by Steve Ballmer to keep it hush?
Question: Amin said the articles don't allow the option of forcing Ballmer to sell. If so, with which mechanism were they able to force Sterling out back then?
49:18 we all know😂😂 bbbbbbbrrrooonnn
Almost all superstars are getting money on side similarly, one way or another. But this answers why clippers kept investing in KL even though he rarely played and didn’t win, if clippers didn’t keep paying, KL would have outs them instead of Pablo 😊
For a certified lawyer, that was some pretty bad lawyering by Silver.
Good talk guys
Great episode. 👍🍻⭐
No, No, No.. You And All Of Yahoo Sports Are "Johnny Come Lately" Crumbs. Pablo Torre is the only Real Journalist Up In Here!! Yahoo Sports And All The Rest Are BOTTOM FEEDERS OFF OF PABLO TORRE.. Do Not Attempt To Claim Any Credit For This Story At All
Adam silver is a weak tool
They lost money for payroll….did his daughter get money??
good pod. Theres one problem, who gives a shit? What can the league do to Balmer that would affect his life in any way?
Really good take on this story
Ballmer, Silver, and even Cuban are basically saying, "Who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes‽" 🤥
Thanks for your reporting 👍🏿
15:43 you say people are zeroing on uncle Dennis. But in fact, all the podcasts, i've listened to everyone has been very lenient on him and Kawhi saying, oh, they can ask whatever they want, it's the Clippers fault that they gave it to him. To that I say, no, they're equally at fault. The person asking for a bribe is just as guilty as the person giving the bribe. He was going around asking everybody for it and eventually, he found someone who gave it to him. He's guilty, and he's the representative of Kawhi, even if not officially.
Amin Elhassan is the man!
kawhi just chilling on the bench the last 5 years. just ban his ahh
50:25 — I have to disagree with Amin and the people who "raised these dudes" is at the feet of the league.. If everything is measured in figures then why cost myself money and a drop in my %s? The players adjust to the rules around them.
You talk about cowards but you dont say the name
You guys are missing the mark on the heave rule. If I can bring a better 3PT% to the negotiating table that's meaningfully valuable. The similarity to the all star game is protecting their product. The money is so crazy now that these small differences in %s and their image (or injuries) really matter.
Amin, Uncle Dennis has been pulling the strings on Kawhi shenanigans for over a decade. Adam Silver says he has broad powers, but does he have the guts to use them? The integrity of the game is of utmost importance and that wrongdoing MUST be punished. Pablo deserves an award for his investigative journalism.
There's cheating and there's CHEATING. How is this any worse than what the Astros did in the WORLD SERIES. All this cap circumvention has lead to what success for the Clippers? If a billionaire wants to overspend on a player who is BARELY healthy why stop him?
36:05 i'm a celtics fan living in california. i already gave up watching the nba two years ago by cancelling my league pass due to all the black-outs for local, tnt, espn, and abc games. and now silver thinks i'm going to sub to multiple streaming services to watch a league that is being managed like this?? and he doesn't care if all i have access to is 'highlights'? i got other sports to enjoy. bye 👋
