Let’s OVERREACT to the NBA Preseason
NBA Preseason hoops have just begun and there is a lot to talk about so far. Victor Wembanyama seems poised for a jump to top five in the NBA or maybe even higher for the San Antonio Spurs. Alperen Sengun feels like he’s ready for an All-NBA type of season along with Amen Thompson, Kevin Durant, and the Houston Rockets. Cooper Flagg’s debut was impressive and he’s gonna be dominant but there are concerns for the Mavericks’ offense. The Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers have great offenses but I’m worried about their defenses. The Golden State Warriors are talented but the age concerns are real. Cade Cunningham could be poised for a crazy season with the Detroit Pistons. The Toronto Raptors and New York Knicks are two teams I’m becoming higher on while the Charlotte Hornets feel a long ways away. Also, the Oklahoma City Thunder are loaded with depth. So, let’s talk about it.

Didn’t mention anything about the Wolves out playing the Nuggets the entire game?
Also the Mike Conley old narrative is stupid, he had shooting hand injury last season which hurt a lot of his numbers. He wasn’t worse just cause he’s old. The wolves have a lot of young talent. They should be top 4 in the west 100%.

Houston looking scary ngl obviously it's pre season so take it with a grain of salt but their young guys just look ready to take the leap to be a legit contender. Truly I think depends on whether Reed can play starting level basketball this season with FVV out if they can reach that status.
If we're overreacting, then I now know that Wemby + Kornet is the new Twin Towers. 4th seed incoming.
About Wemby, I do believe he is gonna be top 5 someday but I would rather wait for at least one more year to glaze him like so many people doing now.

Why would Denver's defense be any worse than last year? I don't buy that take. I think ultimately what's happened in the preseason is that Jokic is not playing his usual 34 minutes. Their bench may be better, but you're not going to win a game where Jokic plays 15 minutes.

Yeah, the Grizzlies definitely saw the writing on the wall. Bane was their healthiest core player, so they sold high on him with the mentality of "if Ja and Jaren are healthy, we're a good team with the assets to get better, and if they're not, we've positioned ourselves perfectly to blow it up and do a full rebuild"

Something kinda crazy: Derrick Lively of the Dallas Mavs was already 7'1. He grew 2 inches over the summer. Crazy lol he is only like 20 though. I can't wait to see Dallas play San Antonio to start the year. Should be a good game
Edit: Yeah, Mavs are a really big team and a ton of depth. Lively is also green light on 3 pointers. And he can shoot.
