  1. Dude went thru all the Rocket seasons he thought possibly had 3 all-stars and didn't name the 2 seasons they were the NBA Champions 😂🤣😭

  2. no1 on this team is currently MVP level, but if Alpi gets 23/10/8 and the team is top 2 seed, he'll be in discussions and thats a huge success at age 23

  3. The 1979 Rockets had three All-Stars: Moses Malone, Calvin Murphy, and Rudy Tomjanovich.

The 1997 Rockets also had three All-Stars: Hakeem Olajuwon, Charles Barkley, and Clyde Drexler

  4. lol rockets fans want Sengun to be best player on rockets so bad. That home grown syndrome man smh. Just let them hoop man.

  5. If Rockets become champion this year its %100 Sengün will be the MVP.. The only way this team to become a champion is Sengun become MVP. So its obvious

  6. I don't think KD will win the MVP.
Especially not after seeing sengun and how he's playing.
I don't think sengun will either but sengun might have a better chance.

I suspect both of them will play at a similar level and no matter how successful the team is they won't be able to creat enough separation from one another to win it

In senguns case his best chance is for KD to have a 20-30 games stretch where he's injured and sengun leads the teama to wins and ups his stats.
He probably will need a 25/10/8 type of stat line to even be in that conversation.

In the case of KD it will be him matching his 2023 season with the nets in scoring and playmaking
which i highly doubt since he looks like he's conserving himself more these days and his handle has been declining since then.
For KD to have a cha5 he needs a stat line of like 30/7/6 but I doubt he will get 7 rebounds with the amount of rebounding talent on this team and 6 assists won't probably happen with sengun.
I do believe 30 points is possible and likely. He was still scoring 32 a game without Booker and I don't think KD believea anyone on this team is good enough at scoring for him to step back and let them get their shots like he would for booker or any previous guard he's played with.

  7. Bro what you doing lol Kd already got top 5 odds he already has the narrative… if anybody on the rocketsbwinning mvp its kd lol this is silly

  8. Rookies are drafted purely on potential. The players chosen at the top of the draft are picked there specifically because they've shown to be most likely to improve the most. The only reason top draft picks dominate the award is because gm's are good at their job

  9. LMMFAO at amen and KD for mvp hahaha DELUSION. and LMOA at "wemby vs Amen" LOL that is not and never will be a thing. It isnt Wemby vs anyone if he is eligible

  10. I think I found your problem, it's wash, rinse, repeat. You might have soap in your eyes. Dream's last all star had 3 Rox but only he was healthy.

  11. KD for MVP is a long shot simply because he may not play the necessary 65 games to qualify. If he sits out B2Bs, that alone will jeopardize him appearing in enough games.

  12. Amen is exactly the mold of an MIP winner in that he actually broke out last year, so this will be his first full season as a starter with a feature role and that stats to match that uptick in minutes and usage. That's why the other name ESPN throws around is Jalen Johnson.

  13. 25 ppg 10 rpg 10 apg 3 stocks with 1st seed in western conference… ladies and gentleman, here is both MVP and MIP for the first time in NBA history…your Alperen Şengün <3

  14. Giannis and Jokic will put up such compelling statistics it will be hard to argue for someone on the Rockets. We all expect step up years from Amen and Jabari. Where will the MVP amount of shots come from?

  15. I don’t know, man Kd been the best player on every team he’s ever played on. Has been some really good names on his team that he performed He is getting older, but we’ll see. but if alphren dominates in three stat categories like he is capable of you might be right

  16. I'm calling it now, mark my words.
    Alpi…MVP
    Ime Udoka… coach of year
    Tari Eason…6th man year
Amen Thompson .defense player of the year.
    Kevin Durant…Finals MVP

  17. I think the key for Sengun winning the MVP is to show he has made up for the loss of Fred. No one will notice unless it comes with team wins and a shocker stat. I think Shengun is going to have a lot of triple doubles. If he could approach the record(42/43?) or break it then he is MVP if the Rockets get 50+ wins. The narrative would be Sengun at center has made up for the loss of VanVleet. But no one will notice if he doesn't have a shocking stat like total triple doubles. The Rockets would also have to dominate the Nuggets. I think Sengun has really improved this year and the loss of Fred is going to accentuate his role on the team – it is a perfect scenario for Sengun creating the narrative you need to win the award. And yes, Olajuwan, Sampson, and Rodney McCray(everyone forgets how good McCray was) all made the all-star team in 1986 and in 1987 – well before the Championship years, and it happened at least once before that and once with the super team in 1997. I don't think the Yao Ming years had one with three all-stars. The 86/87 seasons are the ones Bird feared the Rockets more than the Showtime Lakers. People forget that Sampson was viewed like Wemby is viewed today(way too much hype in both cases).

  18. I agree about the MIP player award. It doesn’t make sense for a player like Amen or Wemby to get it, unless there is a monster level of improvement. If either of them start putting up 30 a night or something (extremely unlikely) then I could see the argument, but neither player is realistically getting that much better than last year. Thats not a bad thing! They are already great! I think it could be the case for Ausar, Jabari, and a few other players as well. They are already good players, and should improve. They should!

The award should go to substantial jumps from unexpected players. Id argue that sophomores should almost never be included, unless the jump is that pronounced, and same for top picks. If Risacher (for example) takes a jump from 12 and a half points to, say, 16 points, then yeah thats great improvement, but he should! And if he jumped to like 24 or something then I can see the argument.

Reed, meanwhile, only had 4 points, and very bad efficiency. If he did put up 15+ a night and just looks completely different, I think thats worthy. Yeah hes a top pick and a sophomore, but it would theoretically a massive jump. But generally it should come from someone that wasn't expected to improve as much as they end up doing.

  19. 27:00 i agree, this moron rafael stone costed the rockets eliminating golden state and maybe a championship by not making the durant trade before the deadline last season!!!

  20. Realistic take:

KD – all nba 2nd unit
Alpi – all nba 2nd or 3rd unit

Alpi and KD – All Star main event

Amen – DPOY finalist (maybe a winner)

Tari Eason – 6th man finalist

Reed Shepard – MIP top 10 candidate.

Jabari – MIP top 5 candidate

  21. I don't want to jinx, but I think Amen should win the MIP and make ALL-NBA 3rd team. Sengun should definitely make All-NBA, possibly first team and even compete for MVP. I don't expect Durant to win anything because, frankly, I would be surprised if he played 65 games. I expect he will play somewhere in the range of 55 games.
For the record, I am EXCEEDINGLY impressed by Amen's improved shooting. Not much has really been made of it, but I think people will be talking about it soon.

  22. If Durant averages 30 PPG then he is top 3 MVP candidate. Sengun averaging 24 PPG, 11 REB, 7 AST is ALL NBA. Then Amen as first time All Star and 1st Team ALL DEFENSE all adds up to another top 3 seed in West and deep run in playoffs, if not going all the way.

  23. Nice to consider; however, those are individual awards. Being the best defensive team in the league with the best transition game will get the team the recognition it deserves. Rockets have the main engine, boosters, guidance system, and payload. Launch t-minus 8 days!

  24. Amen ain't gonna win shit, the all defensive first team was a fluke, he the reason y'all gonna lose delusional rockets fans😂😂😂 even your clown of a host don't believe amen should win mip y'all hating on your own team
