The Sixers pulled off an incredible comeback win on the road to beat the Celtics 117-116 in the season opener. The show was led by VJ Edgecombe and Tyrese Maxey. VJ Edgecombe set a Sixers franchise record with 34 points in his rookie debut, putting the NBA world on notice. Also, Tyrese Maxey dropped 40 points, which tied the most points in a Sixers season opener in franchise history. This is probably our best depth in awhile
Disappointed with Bona so far, I think he has huge potential but just doesn’t seem to have the motor compare him to Barlow who is fighting every possession.
It's only one game so I will temper expectations. With that said, VJ is a real baller. I also like Barlow and believe he should be given a standard contract. I think Maxey should now be the leader of the team. As for Embiid and PG, I have to see it to believe it. My faith in those two at the moment is minimal.

Shout out to Dominick Barlow. He has height, long arms, runs well and appears to be a natural, instinctive rebounder, particularly on the offensive end. I can't remember when the Sixers had that type of ability/production from the PF position.

Here’s the thing for me, I don’t need the sixers to be really good. I need them to be watchable. IMO, the best part of last season was when Embiid and George were injured and Maxey and McCain were leading the way with a much higher pace than we’re used to. We didn’t always win but it was much more fun to watch than the hobbled team we had later on. If we can’t be fully healthy, I’d love for it to be our 3 young guards and these young athletic forwards leading the way
