People gotta be realistic and keep their expectations in check. The Sacramento Kings have been bad for years, and they're still on that same path. That's why nobody thought they'd do anything special this season or in past seasons either. At best, they're a below average to average team, but they're still fun to watch. I'm not mad or disappointed, because I never expected anything big from the Kings anyway.
This franchise desperately needs a reset. They are quickly turning into the West’s Bulls (minus this year… maybe), investing way too much in talented, but deeply flawed scorers while also lacking any vision/direction to meaningfully compete in a brutal Western Conference. With the Bulls you can at least say below the 3rd or 4th seed the East is pretty open most years. Not so much in the current state of the West.
Kings' problem is their owner. When they traded Fox last February, they should've stopped there, instead of absorbing LaVine's bloated contract. Everyone knew it was a bad idea and still he went ahead with it. Good luck trying to dig out of this hole.
