STATEMENT: Orlando Magic DOMINATE on national TV, stun Knicks and change the narrative in major win
The Orlando Magic silenced their critics and a lot of noise with a commanding 124-107 rout of the New York Knicks on national TV.
The Magic re-established their defensive identity and stifled a powerful Knicks offense, using that to power their own scoring and race ahead in the middle two quarters.
After struggling through the first weeks of the season, the Magic have started to find some rhythm and pick up wins. They have changed their narrative over the course of the past two weeks to reclaim a spot among the East contenders.
With Paolo Banchero suffering an injury midway through the game, players throughout the roster stepped up on both ends to deliver the victory. Something the team should be able to carry over to their NBA Cup game on Friday against the Brooklyn Nets.

Boogey man cooked tonight
#22
Finally looked good on national TV. I like what Bane is adding to this team and it will only get better.
Franz and Bane were fantastic, but the best news was we got our defense back! That first half was amazing.
I wonder when Magic Fans finally reallise we are better without Banchero 🙁
Orlando will make it to the conference finals next year
Does anybody know when Moritz Wagner is going to play again ?
Can we normalize calling Franz The boogie man instead of boogie since he's a nightmare for opposing teams 🏀✨✨✨
We play better without Paolo but ggs
Franz is "Baba yaga"
Clearly the new coaching staff had done some scouting on the Knicks; the defense plan felt specific. Love the ball movement; finally getting good looks in rhythm.
great job to Isaac on frustrating KAT!
Will never understand some of our fan base turning on Paolo. He was a plus 9 in his 12 minutes tonight. Been playing good defense this year and really only major flaw has been the 3pt not falling. “We’re better without Paolo” -just embarrassing. The two can coexist just like the Jays coexist if the GM and coach put the spacing around them. Also… HE JUST TURNED 23! A full 4 years from the beginning of his prime.
orlando fans have cracked a small woody
Paolo hasn't been able to prove that in this system, if he gets his, we can be a winning team.
Last nights game was a movie
Without their start player? Wait, Franz played. He's 1a at a minimum now.
Great content as always Philip!
Paolo starts every year slow. Not sure why everyone seems surprised. Plus the whole team has been getting used to a new offensive scheme. 5-2 after starting 1-4. It's starting to click. Hopefully Paolo isn't out very long.
Biggest thing I’ve noticed the past couple games: every time the other team made a run, we answered it. We didn’t hang our heads and mope when something goes wrong like we have been doing so far this year. THAT is how you respond; dig in and let your stifling defense lead directly to a flowing offense.
