Is the Luka Doncic trade from the Dallas Mavericks to the LA Lakers ACTUALLY the worst NBA trade ever?

  1. We have to see…but the idea of trading like a top four top five player of the league, for an injury-prone guy who is older is just awful.

  2. If the Thunder win another title during the SGA era then the Paul George trade would definitely be the worst trade

  3. I dont think so and I only say it as it allowed them to get cooper flagg without the it really is one of the worst of all time!!!

  4. The very worst. Trading Luka is bad enough, NOT giving other teams a chance to bid for him is sabotage

  5. Yes, it was. The PG-SGA swap was seen as a huge win for the Clippers. It's only now, after the PG Clippers era ended with no championships, that we can say it ended up being a bad trade.

But the Luka trade? IT was bad then and it's bad now. The only way it could be seen as anywhere close to a win is if Anthony Davis brought a title to the Mavericks. Not gonna happen.

  6. The Mavs had the 6th pick and would have just taken Dirk at 6, but knew they could get him at 9. The Bucks never had a chance to get Dirk.

  7. That 1998 draft night trade was:

Milwaukee gets: Robert "Tractor" Taylor (fifth pick).

Dallas gets: Dirk Nowitzki (ninth pick) and Pat Garrity (19th pick).

The Mavs flipped Garitty to the Suns for Steve Nash. Dallas would go on to build a very strong team around Nowitzki, Nash and Michael Finley from 1998 to 2003.

  8. No one knew Kobe, Harden, or SGA would become the superstars they became. So those don’t really belong. But everyone knew all about Luka and AD. It is the worst trade.

  9. None of the bad trades in NBA history, even the Billy King trade, are bad at the moment, they are hell of risky at most. But Luka trade is sure to be a disaster everyone can see that just by hearing the news, because you build the whole team around Luka this very particular player, there is no creativity without Luka and lil bit from Kyrie, so if you pull him away, you got a team doesn't know how to play basketball, failing is inevitable looking like right now. And what's worse is they didn't even try to make up for that, didn't even see it, there are several player who can fit for Luka's big point guard duty at least have an offense system, sure you can't get Cade Cunningham and Lamelo Ball, but there is one who can do that and it's gettable during that time and happened to be on Lakers, the other worst part of that trade is exactly that not asking for Austin Reaves, who now is Luka's best mate.

  10. It's not only the worst trade in NBA history, it's the worst trade in all sports or in any form of trading for that matter.

  11. Yeah dude none of these are even close. Draft night trades are always a gamble that can’t be deemed bad till years later, but we all knew right away how bad the Luka deal was. Also have no clue why the Pau/Marc swap is featured here, you literally explain in the video how it was mutually beneficial for both sides

  12. I'd say Kobe, nowotzki and PO'S were worse, but they had no idea back then. Luka… THEY KNEW what they were trading. Simply braindead trade.

  13. Yeah its the worst. They could have gotten soooo much more than what they did for a top 5 player in the league who just took them to the finals

  14. Im a big Shai guy and I think the PG- SGA trade aged the worst considering the clips basically gave away the foundational pieces for an nba dynasty but what makes the Luka trade so bad to me is the fact that everyone knew how bad the trade was at the time; SGA, jaylen williams, Tatum &Brown and even Harden took a couple more years to reach their peaks but luka was already a bonified superstar and got traded without being shopped around for “conditioning issues”
