  1. We can have a conversation on what it’ll be like if he were to go to okc. What we shouldn’t do is act like they can’t trade for Giannis. They can give the best package out of any team. It’s not even close.

  2. Dont do it. Why mess up everything for one player. Our bench would get cleaned out and all that draft capital we have saved up. It would mess up our whole team dynamic because you will have to take the ball away from either chet or j dub and lets be honest that's going to make someone unhappy and want out of okc. When is the last time a big trade like this lead to champions? It would be different if he was a free agent but even still I would say pass.

  3. Nope, no thanks. He's amazing, but that's one upgrade too far. They are nailing the path and are lined up for the future. Better to beat him wherever he goes, than taking chances on messing up the flow. OKC is well oiled and running peak. Don't start playing with the engine.

  4. OKC does have the 1st rounders and player assets to do the trade. A bit of a risk for this year…maybe the end of season if they dont win the chip.

  5. Okc sho not more for ginnias he’s 4 years older than SGA and it will take 1 maybe 2 playoff runs away from then Chet and jdub are better

  6. The fact the Indiana Pacers had a legitimate chance to beat them in G7. If Hali doesn’t get hurt…. omg hope ppl forget. I’m not high on OKC

  7. The thunder does not want some overpriced free agent that doesn't want to be here
The thunder is going to continue to do what they have been doing and that is build from the draft I guess you guys don't realize that the thunder hasn't played their true starting 5 because of injuries And they are so deep they could split their roster in half and have 2 playoff teams

  8. This conversation is so hilarious. When Durant went to go play with the Warriors in 2016, everybody hated him & the Warriors for that move. We’re now here a decade later and EVERYBODY appears to be advocating for Giannis to go to OKC…

Oh my how the times have changed.

    Giannis should go to Miami

  9. OKC is on pace for a 70 win season and clear favorites for the title at the moment. Sacrificing trading away the draft picks and depth for Giannis would be risky when the Thunders identify has been built off the picks and depth. They dont need to make any moves at the moment.

  10. I don't believe a trade to OKC is good, they are contenders now but are not a great fit with Giannis, now a mediocre to poor team absolutely. Why would they make this trade? OKC, already the champs, great chance to repeat, younger, still more draft picks. Name a contender he makes better based on his style of play, it's really about fit. We don't know if he can play without the ball.

  11. If the Thunder don't win the title this year, if won't be from them losing the Finals. If they get through the West, nobody from the East will beat them. Their biggest threats are out west.

  12. They don’t need Giannis loool😂😂😂plus if Giannis goes west then basically all the top 10 players in the league are in the west . Who wants to see that

  13. Is this a joke? Thunder are the defending champs and are 21-1. No way Sam Presti is going to mess with the team chemistry. This is a laughable idea. Clickbait

  14. Anyone having this debate does not know how the CBA/Sustainability/aprons. Or what can be done to ensure best chance of a dynasty I’ll break it down for you.

Yes OKC can hypothetically if they wanted to trade for giannis or any player or superstar and could make it work by moving players money wise, like Lu Dort or Ihart as they have the biggest contracts this year and are team options. In order to get a player like Giannis you’ll have to give up draft picks to a team who is rebuilding after 10 years of all in asset wise hence no draft picks so any trade would need multiple, and going rate probably 3 minimum if players solid and young are added to it.

Problem for OKC is yes the money works now, but they were already most likely going to have to get rid of either in free agency/trade/sign and trade this off season. As Cason Wallace is also up for extension.

Cause J dubs and Chet are on 23 mill combined salary this year.

-next season 2026/27 contracts kick in and will be 83 mill then year combined
-2027/28 shais 60 mill+ (rises to 75 mill by last season 5th seasons) super max kicks in
    – also that year Joe, 11.3 mill) Wallace (whatever extension he gets probably 20+ mill or 15+ mill a year) Ajay (3 million a year till then) wiggins (8 million a year) contracts extensions are all due for options + sorber 5.1 million a year, and topic 7.4 million options are around then
    – Gotta know they will need to be paid and won’t be able to keep all

Then comes the solution to why Sam presti can beat the aprons with all those contracts getting expensive. Players get replaced by high end draft picks as OKC owns 11 picks and up by to 15 first round picks. If a player gets to expensive sign and trade and get more assists to stock along. He has basically a bank of assets to keep financing the big 3 and surrounding with talent why he said won’t be a repeater tax team.

A trade for a player like giannis who’s on 54 million and will be up for extension combine that with Shai, jdub and Chet’s contracts and probably Wallace. Is if you add giannis you lose okc’s biggest strength starting next year or year after. Not enough money to surround without being an apron team. Plus they’d lose the draft picks which was the plan for around 2028.

OKC owns picks besides their own from
    – Utah
    – Mavs
    – Clippers
    – Nuggets
    – Spurs
    – Rockets
    – 76ers
That’s 7 teams and most picks besides clippers are only top 5 protected and from teams can’t see fully bottoming out, but nice picks for example Jokic in 2030 with nuggets he’ll be 35 and they’ll be most likely apron team or having to reshuffle talent around Jokic. And those clippers picks plus if they do sign and trades push to desperate teams.

Giannis or any superstar trade would be so stupid to give up as hes 30 and will only push you closer to the end of your timeline, can win but not long term. When you have the youngest champs in 40 years and second youngest ever. You would be the worst gm to even think of breaking something like this. Plus we saw what happened with our last big 3. We broke it up. And presti has gone on about how much he regretted it then has spoken so much about trust the process, build a family and program.

Guarantee you it’s for long term success like the spurs and warriors . KD was a free agent signing when the cap increased and Steph had a cheap deal cause health issues with ankle, dray was on rookie extension. This team has a super max, 2 soon to be rookie max’s and you wanna add another max??

OKC also has a new arena coming in 2028 season, new state of the art facility’s with a outside district called thunder alley. Looks like a neon space ship. Also being surrounded by a massive sports entertainment district being helped designed by Westbrook including a stadium. OKC is gonna do everything in there power to stay winning till after then. Dont do a Steve Balmer pay unhealthy or old superstars and give all asssetd away to surround them yeah and by time stadium is done your bad a year later

  15. OKC would NEVER go for Embiid.
Giannis if we could get him cheaply. Relatively speaking at least. Meaning, not much more than IHart and one… ONE…. ONLY one, of the Clippers unprotected picks we have.
Now Joker on the other hand….. we could pay for him.

I will say that as an OKC fan im advocating for someone else in the West to trade for Giannis because whoever does it, will massively overpay and im confidence OKC would exploit the shit out of that in the POs.

  16. You know what i don't understand with people when it comes to the OKC trade proposals?
They all think that because OKC has a bunch of young, very talented and now title winning exp. players, and an unheard of war-chest of first round picks.
They all propose these wildly overvalued trades where they think OKC is going to pay whatever, for anything.
When in reality we see and know two things.
    1. Sam Presti don't do trades like that.
    2. OKC because of these highly valued things, have zero pressure in any trade scenario.
These guys are throwing in like 6 picks and 4 players for Giannis but why would they do that?
Or, how about, Lets say they made an offer of IHart + Dort + This upcoming Clippers unprotected first + a future first, sorry not the other Clipper unprotected.
    Why would they add more?
They're giving up a center in IHart who is in his prime, arguably one of the best two way guards in the NBA in Dort who is still only like 25, and that Clippers pick is almost invaluable. There is a very realistic chance its a top 5 in a draft that's like 15 deep if we're just talking starters within their rookie contracts.
Name a team they'd get more value from….. im sure other teams would throw them more 23-30 pick, first rounders. No one comes close and OKC has zero reason to include more.

This is just like the Alex Caruso/Giddey trade.
Everyone was saying Chicago should have gotten a first or two… wtf… why?
OKC got a career role player who fits them perfectly but he's still a role player and was only signed for one year.
For a 6'8 PG in his rookie contract, super high IQ and is developing into a Billups like floor general.
Chicago, technically in value, got more… what are you people talking about?

  17. The only way they're getting him is to block the Lakers from trading for him. But no worries, there's still San Antonio as safety valve.

  18. The Spurs are the best trade partner but the Bucks don’t want De’Aaron Fox. They want Stephon Castle and Carter Bryant as the base.

  19. If Giannis goes to OKC his resume will get tainted, they'll be like, He joined the reigning champs, So he can't be higher than so and. So in all time rankings.

New York would be great for Giannis or even Miami, just to bring more power in the East

  20. Honestly the warriors have kept room for him for a few years now, might not be the best deal but they can certainly make it work

  21. Listen. Get this out your head. No way is he wanting to go to OKC. It is not a smart business move and it's uncompetitive. The smart business move would be to go to one of the market teams. We just saw the lowest ratings for NBA finals in history. Because two low market teams went head-to-head. It would have to be one of the bigger market teams which he said he wants to go to. Now they can make the trade if they want to but I doubt he stays there. And are they going to risk him leaving and them getting nothing in return and just leaving Shay by himself? No. He said he want to go to New York. I don't know how they make that trade happen but it's a possibly to make that trait happen. And I think the the NBA because of last year will try to make that happen. Because they know that means big money

  22. If Giannas goes to the team that was champions last year, and is on track to break the best regular season record, you guys will discredit him immensely. If they win, he had Shai, if he loses, he had Shai.

  23. Giannis makes any team 'better'. The issue will always be what does a team have to give up for him and how much depth will they need to sacrifice. Especially if that team already has a supermax superstar.
