Walsh needs to start in Derek white’s place.
The most dangerous thing about the Celtics is that they’ve been doing all this with essentially 1 big in the rotation. Their ‘big’ off the bench is Minott, who’s only 6’8”. The 2nd unit is killing teams by out-hustling them and playing choke-hold defense. Hugo was able to almost completely take KAT out of the game in the 2nd quarter against the Knicks. Minott and Walsh are regularly grabbing rebounds in a crowd. When Tatum comes back this could be one of the most devastating small-ball teams we’ve seen since the warriors death lineup
This is a rebuilding season, just that brad planned this like 3 years ago -minus the tatum injury
Also I hope walsh is a Celtic for life. Dudes got it
I watch every Celtics game I can, everybody downplayed this team too much, but even I'm shocked they're sitting in 3rd right now. I was expecting 7 or 8 seed, but I'm not gonna complain
The equation is simple if D White is scoring and hitting 3s the Celtics will win because Walsh and Minnot and Hugo are defensive wizards and bring hella energy ON THE BOARDS. This team is still a contender they just took out New York Cleveland Toronto aka the top teams in the east all in the last week or two

All I could think was, "at least we've been developing Walsh all these years". (When Tatum went down).
I really thought he was ready to just plug and play for Tatum.
Of course you're not going to be the number one seed missing Tatum, but we certainly seem like a playoff caliber roster?
So when the season starts, we try Hauser, Minot, Hugo, Boucher, going small, going big and nothing worked, we couldn't find a rhythm and hovered around .500.
All I could think was, "what is the coaching staff seeing", "that I'm missing"?
I've seen Walsh playing in Maine, he's a beast. He's not going to give you that offensive consistency Tatum did, but currently has like 40-50-90 splits, he just can't seem to miss at the moment.
As Joe says, water levels. But I think 15 a night isn't absurd to expect. And with his defense, he could be in rare company. He looks defensive player of the year material.
Austin Reeves is pretty damn amazing, but he just could not get any room, any space until the refs got Walsh pulled on some phantom calls.
That's what they do when a team's about to get their asses whooped on a prime time game.
The refs get Walsh pulled and all of a sudden Austin Reeves goes nuts.
I don't think people realize the little things refs do to impact the game like that. It's f**** awful.
The amount you're losing when you plug and play Walsh for Tatum is negligible.
It took a while for "stubborn Joe" to start playing Walsh off the bench, where he soon forced himself into the starting lineup.
