What do you think Michael Porter Jr.'s trade value is and what would it take for you to move him?
a Milwaukee Buck or LeBron if Adam Silver promises us the first pick in the draft.
I would keep MPJ. In year 3 of SM's tenure we went 42-40, made the playoffs, had a ton of cap space and signed KD and Kyrie. The strategy was sound, they just signed the wrong guys. I would keep this team together, maybe even upgrade by getting Anfernee Simons and dumping Cam, Ziaire and Highsmith, win 32 games, and be a hot situation for free agents in the offseason. Next season we win around 45 games and have 3 FRPs in '27
I think in 2 years all 5 rookies will be better than Day.
I can't see how you would start Tyrese ahead of Mann. Mann's numbers are better across the board.
If you can get Giannis, he is a great #2
If not, send him to the Pistons for Ivey, two # 1's & Tobias Harris…

If they keep Porter, they will fall ass backwards into 27 or more wins because they're not that bad and Jordi is an outstanding coach with a good staff. How important is the tank? (I hate the tank, if anyone is asking)

MPJ had multiple good play off series as well plus was injured last year.
MPJ has always been an efficient scorer, just taking more shots now. Jordi didn’t make him one of the best shooters in the league lol.
Core piece
MPJ and the Rookies and Noah Clowney should be off limits and everyone else should be explored as tradable.
HOWEVER, this is only if Marks and ownership will take control and systemically bench MPJ during the season. If they cannot get Jordie to do that then MPJ unfortunately is the easiest player to move and protect the one goal that matters a top 3 pick. That doesn’t mean you automatically get a top 3 pick but you Must put yourself in the best situation to do that. If the goal was to just be mediocre and win a couple games, then they should’ve never did the bridges trade to begin with or traded for their picks back with the Rockets.
They could’ve kept bridges and Cam Johnson and figured out a way to acquire player like MPJ a year later. But by trading Cam Johnson, and trading for their picks back. And then blowing their opportunity last draft they gotta get it right this draft.
Would trade Mpj + 3/4 FRP for Banchero + fillers

Nets found a gem in Porter. Keep him , Clowney and the new rookies, plus a good 2026 pick, will make this team some noise in 2 years.

I think one of MPJ or Claxton gets moved. Doesn't make sense to hold all these guys during a tanking season when they have value.
He is a trade piece.
It amazes me how this fallacy of thinking that you can CONTINUE to trade away vets with experience for future picks/capital equals a winning product. The picks that you MAY get, because they're not guaranteed to get any of the top picks, may turn out to be a bust (I.E. Emanuel Mudiay, O J Mayo, MCW, Ben Simmons), just to name a few. Now, you've given up all the players who were/are ACTUALLY producing, you're losing because you set them up for failure so that you can tank, you can't/won't draw a star or solid FA because they see that all you've been doing is recycling players for picks and capital, and you're now stuck on this ferris wheel of transition. So, let Claxton, MPJ, and CT( CT go , to be honest)go and depend on this years rookies and maybe a high draft picks next year and see how that works out. Btw, they won't have to tank next year. They'll EARN being one of the worst teams
This season Claxton is one of only 3 centers (Joker and Randall) averaging at least 13 pg, 7 plus rebounds and 56% or more fg%. Also one of only 4 centers (Joker, Sangun, Queen) to have a triple-double so far. And some are wanting to trade him for cap space and picks. That's why the Nets are were they are.
