While a league source said the Mavericks do have interest in the Warriors’ Jonathan Kuminga, who can’t be traded until Jan. 15 but is widely expected to be dealt before the deadline, the fifth-year forward’s salary ($22.5 million) comes well short of Davis’ ($54.1 million) and would thus require the inclusion of another big contract.

I think they are just trying to drum up more interest in AD and create some sort of Bidding war between GS and ATL and whoever else jumps on board with trade interest. Trying to find the best and biggest package. I promise you they are trying to work that NO 1st out of ATL even if we gotta package other players to do it. To give the potential of 2 top 4 picks or at least 2 potential top 10 picks. Could you imagine getting Peterson and Dybantsa both or Dybantsa and a Acuff, Flemmings, Brown Jr or a Philon? Your rebuild would pretty much be done. With Kyrie to mentor the Young guys and help grow amd develop and accelerate that growth. Then us not controlling our own pick til 2030 wont matter anymore at that point…
