Dolan > cohen
Right now this is the best owner of any of the NY teams. Take that statement how you will.
At least Thibs knew how to defend the perimeter …
having the mic and stand blocking his face made this better. honestly. thank you.
Sounds like my ex treat her good get her a nice crib give her stability show her loyalty all of sudden out of the blue this isn’t working😂😂 year later she single again with 2 kids
Thibs had to go, his 'system' was prehistoric, he didn't utilize the bench, and he refused to change his ways. Mike Brown has completely transformed this offense and the bench is thriving. NYK !
finally a owner who’s actually trust worthy / competent my jets could never
Goodness gracious, the bald guy on the right needs to get a job as a janitor instead of a radio gig. Every time James Dolan is starting to go into more detail in regards to the Tom Thibodeau thing, he interrupts and chimes in with a generic fill-in line finishing the answer ahead of time on behalf of Thibs. This is literally NOT what you do as a competent interviewer or a journalist. Is this week 1 this guy is on the job?
Alas‚ I guess this guy's talent is more akin to a run of the mill garbage morning radio show hack guy as opposed to the talent level of some of the more veritable sports media figures like Ian Begley from SNY or the like.
This isn’t really debatable if you look at the numbers.
Under Thibs, the Knicks were consistently top-10 in defensive rating, top-5 at limiting opponent 3PA, and elite in closeouts + low blow-by rates — that’s textbook perimeter scheme discipline. His defenses intentionally concede volume control over gambling, which is why NY regularly ranked near the top in lowest opponent drive frequency and fewest open catch-and-shoot looks.
If perimeter D looks worse now, it’s personnel and communication — not coaching knowledge. Thibs has a decade-long track record of above-average to elite perimeter defenses across multiple rosters. That doesn’t vanish overnight.
These hosts are garbage, should have asked him straight up why he is the worst in sports.
This is for all the dummies that said Dolan didn't fire Thibs the Dinosaur
I’ll give Coach Brown credit for ‘developing’ young talent. His instincts to start Mo Diawara age 20 spot on. ‘Finding’ Kevin McCullars brilliant. Trusting Kolec in tight spots very helpful and preserves draft capital. But, the San Antonio Spurs loss is inexcusable. With Wemby injured at the 10 min mark in the 4th quarter and Kornet as the remaining big, Brown stuck with his ridiculous interior collapse / help defense, leaving Champagnie wide open to break Chuck Person’s record of 3Ps made in a single game (note: he was already 4 of 5 in the fourth quarter at that point). The Knicks enormous defensive advantage is having two elite defenders on the wing, OG and Mychal. By having one of these two wasted to guard Kornet, leaving the hot hand free to shoot uncontested threes COST THE GAME! Inexcusable and shows a lack to adjust to ‘in game’ realities. This didn’t happen under Thibs (with all of his other flaws that I don’t deny). The wins at Atlanta and New Orleans, to far inferior teams, should have been blow outs with basic defensive rotations. Word was out when ATL and PHI visited MSG that Knicks defensive rotations are a mess and can be exploited by teams using a swing – swing – shoot the open three philosophy with the Knicks scrambling to ‘recover.’ Maybe this approach works better with a healthy Josh Hart and Landry Shamet or maybe, just maybe, it will fail like it did in SAC …
here for the interview.. not for the interviewers.. they are way beyond trash
Everything we are getting now we wouldn't have under thibs. Also thibs had how many years Mike brown hasn't had a full season yet with this team give a realistic time to watch us get better defensively.
Did they ask Dolan about his facial recognition policy? Guessing not.
If we don’t win sell the team please I’m tired of and older fans are too
Now you have defenseless team
Knicks were one season away from championship now this defenseless team.
I want the 2 idiots Brandon and Sal 😂 1st day got James Dolan on for a half hour
Thibs remade this organization. This team's competitive identity and that toughness you see out there is Thibs. Man deserves respect and to always be honored at msg …
Mike Brown will collaborate and develop the Knicks right back to the toilet. And don't forget all the picks we gave away.
Let's breakdown Thibs bench last season. Cam Payne..not in the league now, Precious…not in the league now, Delon Wight…not in the league, Mitch..missed the first 2/3 of the season then minutes restriction, Shamet hurt his shoulder and missed most of the season, Kolek nowhere near what he is this season, Dadiet still can't get off the bench, Deuce was the only guy who played consistently and was injured a lot too. What did he have? He deserved another shot with a decent bench
He didn’t fool me brown is a fill in not the coach new players new coach same team on the court front office is coaching the team not brown
This whole interview was fixed
As a lifelong D.Rose fan although Thibs ran him through the ground I never really hated him as a coach cause his coach style always resulted in a very gritty/ “dawg” mentality type squads. Not one squad i’ve seen him coach that actually ended up as trash only problem I feel like he’s had that was really damaging was his bench rotations and especially with newer players. always been a “trust” factor with that guy
Well coach Brown won the cup 😊
Thibs was stubborn maybe should have been removed as coach but not like that should have given him an office job or something with organization for what he's done unless it's not what he wanted.
Is carton going to gamble again😂
NEVER finish the sentence of the person being interviewed. FFS! 🤦🏻♂️
I think that Knicks have a chance this year to win it all , as long they play smart basketball and listen to the coach
Carton the worst…Nuff said…
Thibs knew what players he had and used best ones to win the game. you cant blame him for not playing deep bench players. today's knicks gave up the meaning of defense, they are one of the worst now. they wont get past 1st round tbh. they need to make trades and get bigger bodies, players that can dribble and make plays. og cant dribble or pass, same for kat, mitch, josh, jordan, etc. none of them are good dribblers, they are terrible with the ball. Mitch is the worst, he is afraid to hold the ball for more than 2 seconds. he cant dribble, shoot, pass, crate plays, etc. useless player on the court. decent at getting rebounds but thats about it. for his size, he should be scoring 20+ every game.
I’ve ripped Dolan, like most of us fans have. I never thought I’d hear him say his teams are committed to development. So nice hearing that
Dolan just chatting fart… not saying anything of substance
Man Carton was glazing for real.
I hated this interview, all softball questions. You care about developing players now Dolan? Then, why gut the team for Melo. Mr. Flow Sucker Supreme? And why isn't Melo a spokesperson for Tampax Tampons yet? Name another Knicks player that's been responsible for stopping so much flowage.
The New York Knicks I mean James Dolan should have never fired Tom Thibodeau.
As a long time, Knick fan and someone seeing more than 350 Knick games live it is unreasonable to not use your bench and develop players. Alot of coaches' ruin players lives. Can you imagine working your whole life to make it to the NBA and then you just sit on the bench because a coach wants to exploit your staters and not develop you. Not fair to the fans or the organization. If I am correct, we had 3 players last year with the most minutes played. That's not sustainable, reasonable and allows for injures. Thanks for all Thibs and now we sit and see what Brown does…
