KARL-ANTHONY TOWNS WAS BENCHED AGAINST THE BLAZERS! Mike Brown made a shocking rotation change against the Portland Trailblazers by benching Karl-Anthony Towns for Josh Hart & Mitchell Robinson. This marked the first time Brown has done something like this. On top of that, it worked! There were many factors at play here to consider but the main part was that Josh Hart returned and with him, the Knicks team we came to know and love this season. That helped NY win the game but what does it say about the Knicks that they needed to bench KAT and not have him in the game to close? Troy Mahabir breaks all of this down!

I can see where towns would be upset , he had a great game for almost 3 quarters welll maybe better game than the previous games like when he only had 6 points , but the damn offensive fouls are killing , granted he constantly gets hacked and no calls so I know hy he’s frustrated sometimes but he did play better last night !
Hart's the real captain, he does the intangibles like a Dennis Rodman type hustle player. He's all over the place.
People who actually know basketball and aren't just "fans" (you know the type – score points, they love you; score low and they trash you) know that Josh Hart is invaluable to this team. As far as KAT is concerned, he's inarguably a great player, but imo he is overrated.
Towns has plenty of skill, what he doesn't have is enuff heart, or CONSISTENCY
I would try and trade him for AD

KAT shoulda been benched, about time Mike Clown actually "adapt". Agreed ride the wave, it doesn't make sense to change what's working. Make sure it's done with OG & Mikal, there are two inconsistent & disappear a lot. I got no problem with it.

I don't have a problem benching Towns. I do have a problem with his salary cap hit. You getting paid like a superstar but you don't play like one. And its not just the Knicks, its all over the damn league, all these fake superstars have max contracts. If John Starks played in today's NBA he'd have a max contract. If Charles Oakley played today, he'd have a max contract. Allan Houston, Lateral Sprewell, and the list goes on. Charlie Ward.. wouldn't have a max, but he'd have a big contract! Patrick Ewing, obviously would, he was a star. But that entire 90's Knicks team would have a max contract! See my point? …I know, its the market.. Im just venting.

No problem KAT on the bench. His playing has become inconsistent. Benching him should happen more often if he can't perform consistently.
