When Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves share the floor without Lebron James, the Lakers post an offensive rating of 118.4 and a defensive rating of 111.1, that's a PLUS +7.3 net rating, boarderline elite numbers. Two players who actually compliment each other, one creates, one finishes, both compete, and neither hijacks the flow. ⭐
Now look at what happens when LeBron replaces Luka next to Reaves. The offensive rating drops to 114.0 and the defensive rating balloons to 120.2 and the net rating flips to MINUS -6.1. That's not a small dip, that's a full on collapse. Same teammate, same system, same minutes, just one swap and suddenly both sides of the ball fall apart.
