You cannot win meaningful games with Sabonis as your starting center. The front office knows this.
IQ is 3 unprotected picks to eat his contract, RJ is filler,, so domas costs 3 unprotected picks, and malik monk is a top 10 protected 1st. so its 7 picks to get domas and malik monk to raptors.
I would actually go all in , give up 3 unprotected picks for kings to eat IQ contract, give 3 unprotected picks for domantas sabonis, give 1 lottery protected pick for malike monk, and give 1 top 5 protected pick for keon ellis with two unprotected 2nds so raptors have no picks for next 8 years. so if this doesnt work, the raptors are stuck and have no choice but to do a complete tear down and 5-7year rebuild to find a legit number 1 scoring option before starting to come out of the rebuild.
WE DO NOT WANT ONE OF THE WORST DEFENSIVE BIGS IN THE NBA FFS. Under any circumstances I don’t want this guy. He’s a downgrade to yak even defensively and even though his offence is great, he’s way to much a liability and doesn’t fit our roster whatsoever.

I don't like the Sabonis fit, and especially don't like dealing away RJ for him. It really sucks that we seem to have shot ourselves in the foot with the Yak extension.

A NO for me. This trade helps at centre but creates big gaps elsewhere. We have already seen that there is no one on the bench that can fill RJ's shoes. It leaves the Raps short a point guard too. How do they trade for that? Overall it does not add up to a plus for the Raps. Has to be a better Centre trade out there.
Take Domas Sabonis if he wants to be a Raptor. 🏀

I would try to acquire Sabonis and Monk for RJ and Poeltl. Not sure what kind of picks or filler would need to be involved to make this work.

If it's Monk and Ellis with Sabonis for Poeltl, Quickley, Dick, Agbaji, 2026 and 2028 first-round picks (2028 top-4 protected) I would be ok with that. Not a fan of Sabonis, but his Center, it's way better what we have.

I’d rather keep RJ and Poeltl. Just let Poeltl get healthy! We are a great team with both of those guys. I like Sabonis, but I think he hurts us defensively…

Under no circumstances, should we trade RJ. He's too good and too important. We need him to win the next championship. I still say the Raptors, should get the scouting reports and explore bringing in a quality 7-foot or taller international player from the international league. There are several of them out there. There are free agents and those who could be drafted.
can't wait for the trade deadline to come and go with zero moves from the raptors. funny thing is i wouldn't mind it one bit. this team is great as it is. we just need our center and RJ to come back from injury. if there are no good deals out there, we are better off staying put. if we are going to make one move, it should be for a 7' backup or primary center (i'm ok with yak being dealed). anything else is just noise. we aren't competing for a chip this year. calm down. get some playoff experience. the big trades will happen in 2027/2028 when there is more at stake and the raptors are top of the east, competing for a chip.
RJ is the engine that keeps the team going , he protects BI and Barnes from being exhausted every night and gets a bucket when the team needs it to end opposition runs. The Raptors need to find another way to obtain Sabonis !!

No f*ckin way!! I don’t know what’s wrong with my fellow Raptor’s fans but yall keep hating on Quickly and he’s an amazing player. Same thing goes for RJ. There is no way in hell we should be trading either one of them unless the players we get in return make us substantially better and I’m sorry to say but Sabonis doesn’t do that. We don’t need an offensively gifted centre tbh. We just need a big body that is physical and can play decent defence. Someone who can disrupt shots in the paint and can grab rebounds.
