Boston Celtics Trade Deadline: Possibilities, Waiting to deal, and Brad Stevens curveballs
Boston Celtics face pivotal trade deadline decisions that could reshape their path to another championship. Will Anfernee Simons move, or will Brad Stevens pull another surprising maneuver? With the second apron era complicating potential trades, every option is on the table—including standing pat. Are Sam Hauser or Derrick White unexpectedly expendable? Jayson Tatum’s upcoming return has fans questioning whether the Celtics should push their chips in now or wait for the summer when free agency and superstar movement might open new doors.
John Karalis of SI and Tom Westerholm of Boston.com break down Boston’s assets, Simons’ contract situation, and possible trade targets like Day’Ron Sharpe and Daniel Gafford. The conversation covers the rising impact of Jaylen Brown, weaknesses exposed by Eastern Conference rivals, and the strategic limitations posed by the NBA’s complicated salary cap rules. Will Boston make a bold move or gamble on its current roster to win in the postseason?

Jayson Tataum will be our best acquisition. We don't need to trade
Brooklyn don't make smart moves. Anyway Tatum could be back, I don't want Simons traded but his values is high, can't lose Simons for nothing and if Celtics can get someone who is young big athletic or a big who is a stater level player, n get under the cap Stevens going to do it. Garza getting to foul trouble against Detroit was really bad. We need to get bigger.
What if we keep Simons into the off-season and he just walks and we lose the "asset" since he us becoming a free agent
No, Tatum shouldn't come back this season. If the C's fail, all the blame will be on him. It's not fair. Meanwhile, the C's shouldn't trade Simons at this moment! The team chemistry is magnificent right now. There is no reason to break it up. Actually C's no need to trade anyone just for standings !! This is the fucking GAP year so keep it !! Just we'll see how far they go !!
Zubac is not much better then Nemais queta if we being real 🤷♂️💯
I think Personally you have to find a way to KEEP Simons and maximize his potential On this team! So actually I dont think a Sam hauser Trade is too farr off in acheiving that! I do love Hauser.. But i do agree that moving him out and keeping simons would open up more opportunities for simons to thrive annnnnn HIS ceiling we ALLL undoubtedly know from Portland
Trade Pritchard Minot bouchette Tillman for power forward
Trade D white for JK from GSW
Great show. As always, guys.
Come on, Tatum will be the missing piece to push this team to the top of the East. Williams is getting better in Maine to cover the Big man spot later in the season. Go Celtics!
Seems hard to reconcile with reality that a starting 5 of jb jt dw nq pp and a bench with sh as JW isn’t competitive with okc ? Okc isn’t great they are vg. Denver and SA aren’t as good as that lineup. Your missing it the window is now. The small salaries are now. But they also don’t necessarily need anything to win now. Celtics are a few close games from fighting from the best record in the nba now. Seems you can’t wrap your head around that
You’d framing is misleading – their point differentiatial is excellent and end game variance has been against them they have underperformed their play in the standings
Tom is confused. You have to beat one west conf team. This lineup with jt is 40-60 at worst against okc better vs the others . Just a bit of shooting variance away
Never trade Sam! The best shooter on the team
