    Losing VJ Edgecombe to add Giannis is a great move.

    Giannis doesn't need to rush back from injury.

    Also when Giannis is healthy again he has shown he can play big minutes & carry an offense & also elevate the teams defense.

    A Giannis, Embiid PF/C duo might be the most talented ever & have All-time great 2-way impact along with having a dynamic 30 PPG scoring guard in Tyrese Maxey.

    That's putting 3 guys who can average 30 PPG in same team.

    This is a super team + Embiid provides spacing being a 3-level scorer.

    Giannis + Maxey in transition will be unstoppable with enough half court scoring with the trio.

    They are then a Jrue Holiday move away from an NBA title.

    If your not gonna make that VJ Edgecombe trade then what is the point of still having Joel Embiid, effectively wasting the remaining years of his peak.

    Also just by the fact you acquire Giannis, it also allows you to pivot away from Embiid too.

    Embiid hasn't had a reliable co-star in the playoffs in his career, possibly since Jimmy Butler.

    James Harden was not the same level & super inconsistent with his scoring + shooting.

    Embiid now has Tyrese Maxey + Giannis.

    This move also ensures 76ers don't just die come playoff time because Embiid is hurt.

    A Maxey-Giannis or Maxey-Embiid is enough to get atleast to the 2nd round.

    Having all 3 opens up NBA championship window.

    VJ Edgecombe is super talented, but this isn't Anthony Edwards.

    Lakers traded Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart and picks for AD.

    Andrew Wiggins got traded as no.1 overall pick to Timberwolves for Kevin Love.

    Cavs did that to pair Lebron + Kyrie with Kevin Love.

    Wiggins was 17 PPG rookie + won ROY.

    Wiggins averaged 21 PPG in year 2 and 24 PPG in year 3 showing 3 level scoring & being a talented defender too.

    I doubt VJ Edgecombe does that in year 2 & 3.

    So Trading VJ Edgecombe for Giannis is actually a steal.

    People get too attached to rookies. If you got the chance to get a top 5 player in NBA for a rookie + a fading 35 year olr injury prone player.

    That's a steal.

    I get if you have to gut your roster to acquire Giannis along with taking VJ.
