San Antonio Spurs superstar Victor Wembanyama used his platform to speak out on the horror show that is life in America under Donald Trump and his secret police force of ICE, CBP, and other DHS agencies, while far too many of his fellow athletes, especially those in Minnesota, remain disappointingly silent. Rick Strom breaks it down. Give us your thoughts in the comments below!

  1. Pro athletes and their silence is very disappointing to see. They care more about not paying taxes than speaking truth to power. Speak up. Kids are watching and could use some better examples of courage from their role models.

  2. There are so many hypocrites within America because we have two sides. Us or them. The sense of community is gone…

  3. They couldn't say a word about Israel for 2 years, now their masters are allowing these cowards to speak

  4. Thank YOU , Victor!!!! 🙏 ALL Athletes, Celebrities, Everyone should be speaking out about this! Humanity is on the line. First they came for “them”, next it’ll be another group, and another, and another, then it’s YOU & I

  5. He hates to see things like! wtf like this is stuff that just happens? A bunch of no balls sheep afraid there masters won’t pay them the millions of dollars. MAGA sold the soul of the United States and most of these way overpaid athletes are worried about money over humanity.

  6. I'm sure with Anthony Edwards, he's probably has known of America killing its own citizens for a while. I feel like the only thing really shocking about the death of Renee Good and Alex Pretti is that they also represent everything the right wing say/said they were for through generations of violence against minorities. Even now, we are talking about how horrible it is that we have these murders happened by ICE, while at the same time have had these concentration camps running in the same country with all these deaths and cruelties coming out of them for almost at least a year by now. I mean it's outrageous, but it's also been outrageous.

I mean, honestly, even myself, the biggest concern I have is "is this hate and disdain for ICE and the Trump administration even going to stick this time? Will people be over this by the time elections come this year? In Three years? In 7 years?" The short memory syndrome is the most draining. I want to blame Neoliberalism, but the country also perpetuates that, it's exhausting!

  7. Im glad I never support these overly paid selfish athletes. I never have and never will give my money to professional athletes. Shit an average family has to save a months worth of income just to go when that’s like the equivalent of what 10 minutes of salary for the lowest paid athlete.

  8. A mad dictator, who is a condemned criminal, is accused by multiple women of being a paedophile, running the biggest war machine, murdering foreigners and its own people with no accountability. Every person in your country needs to speak up now.

  9. The U.S. public put too much value in pro sports. The league/owners know it. We keep tuning in to games. We keep buying season tickets. We continue tailgating. And pushing our kids into sports. It has become a coping mechanism for many.

  10. These athletes played so safe they might as well said nothing, they're all worried about their future money come guys sometimes people have to make a REAL stand.

  11. Victor is French.

If the French government had executed innocent citizens in front of cameras and then brazenly lied about it, the French citizenry would have dragged every last cabinet member out onto the street and made the guillotines work overtime.

  12. whoa! 1st and 2nd amendment and people are afraid to speak out against state violence. what a time to be an american!

  13. Anthony Edwards was giving “I DGAS” vibes, this is everyone’s problem. It doesn’t matter that you’re an American citizen, ICE is not looking for undocumented immigrants they are looking for black and brown bodies. He’s body language was extremely off putting

  14. When you speak to the “privileged”, they don’t want to loose the “lap of luxury” that comes from the person that signs their check. Unfortunately, the person that signs their check has also signed donation check(s) to the same oppressive regime. Us, poor people, have nothing to loose but a lot to gain.

  15. I'm not a spurs fan but I'll pull for them now. I won't support another team, athlete or celebrity that isn't speaking out right now. If you have a platform and you're not using your voice, shame on you!! Every player at the superbowl should be taking a knee this year..

  16. Rick, it’s time to go out on your own. Hard to support the TYT organization. Get out while you can. Just a thought. I don’t watch much anymore because of that affiliation. I doubt I’m the only one. You’re a piling helping support the unsupportable

  17. That's disappointing. The players should at least offer to listen to the fans with letters and then share those. If they can't share their own feelings , maybe they could share the feelings of their fans

  18. I'm glad your athlete said something about this. The other problem you are now facing is the entire World is now against you.

  19. Thank you for taking a stand and using your voice to protest against the atrocities that are being committed against human beings!
When people know something is wrong, and still refuse to say nothing, they are complicit.

  20. it takes a foreigner to feel and understand the ugly situation we are in , mid terms every body i don't know what will do but any change right know will feel good
