  1. Well, you could also look at the box score and realize how valuable it was to get 14 assists, without turning the ball over – Even if he came close. Definitely agree the traditional box score will struggle to accurately capture defensive impact. More so game to game. But, I would be interested to see what stocks and +/- say when controlling for offensive stats.

  2. Kinda haliburton, always pushing ball and getti g people touches. Keeps everyone in the game. If thompson had any shot cade have 30 assists came from these video, dude has a guy 10 ft away and still looking to drivr

  3. I'm going to get flamed for this, but based on your analysis it seems like Cade isn't anywhere close to being in MVP or first-team discussion. His passing is top tier, but slower on reads than others. He's too passive with the ball and often gets bailed out by the structure of his team with multiple 3-point shooters. I don't think the criticism is unwarranted, if he wants to make the leap to first-team, either his scoring or passing have to get better; yes they are both elite, but not the best in the league in either category.

  4. 4:13 what foul are you talking about? how in the Bob Cousy is this a foul? unlike all these moving screens and pushes for offensive players? and you still complain there aren't enough foul calls? NBA has gone down the drain so far

  5. I generally like TB and agree that Cade is a great player, but this "analysis" is dumb. Compilation of "point guard makes passes" and "on defence he pickes up the right man".Well yes, good job, but these are not really examples of anything special as the point of the video is trying to showcase.

  6. the first 2 minutes of this video is such utterly obvious and normal basketball as to make it difficult for me to watch further. We are really applauding that first wing pass like it is high level stuff? good god

  7. What were you thinking making a video like this?! Some random LeBron fan might accidentally learn something and figure out that stats aren’t end all be all.

  8. In the modern era of sports the push to have more and more stats to be able to quantify a players value is overwhelming and also at times completely useless. A lot of this has come from baseball because of its unique ability to actually do this but the problem is baseball is a static sport where every play starts from the same point, a pitcher pitching to a better. The problem that other sports have had and continue to have is they're trying to create similar stats for players in sports that have a lot more fluidity in each play. Football comes close but with 22 players on the field at a time that's still incredibly hard to break a play down to a few stats to explain it. Hockey and basketball are even harder because of the fluidity of the games. Not a single play in these sports starts from the same static point that can easily be stat-ified.

  9. Just throwing out random numbers? 5:10

Who’s documenting this drive efficiency and among what peer group have you taken this rim fg% from?

  10. Breakdown a mediocre player during a decent shooting game to show they still don’t really help. Tobias Harris when on my sixers for 5+ years taught me that even his 9 for 16 game wasn’t good enough for him to be out on the court for 35 minutes. Just a complete mirage of a player even when not blatantly stinking. Usually these guys get moved off your team fast enough that you don’t notice but the morons in Philly kept him so long that you’d think they’d have to retire his number some day.

  11. Just a friendly reminder that open 3 point shots are made at a higher percentage than average meaning a 36% shooter should launch whenever they are wide open as it the best jump shot that can be achieved. Even average shooters make 40% of open 3’s which is better than a JB or PP midrange jumper which is made at 50-55%. The block on Walsh should have been a foul as his off hand halts Walsh’s movement towards the rim. That push should be called imo.

  12. As a pass first guard (couldn’t shoot all my life until now) and a pistons fan, I’ve noticed the subtle changes and improvements in his game. If he wasn’t knocking down shots before, then the rest of the team was cooked. However, he’s not taking his time to make the right plays and still get everyone involved despite the intense pressure

  13. Box score didn’t lie tho

14 assists to 0 turnovers tells you he was an amazing playmaker

    1 steal, 2 blocks, +1, Win

other than 16 points on 17 shots and 10 FTA, he had a good game

  14. Cade is currently playing through 2 injuries, while playing with jalen duren who is also injured. Im certain he’s trying to reach his 65 game threshold.
