Would a James Harden for Darius Garland trade make the Cleveland Cavaliers LEGITIMATE TITLE threats?
The LA Clippers and Cleveland Cavaliers have discussed a deal that would send James Harden to Cleveland for Darius Garland, league sources told The Athletic.
The Cavaliers’ interest in Harden, league sources said, would be contingent on the amount of draft capital the Clippers would attach to sweeten any deal where they’d swap the 26-year-old All-Star guard for the 36-year-old former MVP.

Altman drafted and loves undersized no defense often injured Garland. Trade is because Gilbert is fed up paying max for a player who misses half of the games due to stubbed toes. Look for Altman to be fired if Garland is a Cav Friday. Bron is not returning, Gilbert does not like him.

donovan doesn't move an offense and he does not play point guard. so harden is an upgrade

DG is 25 years young. I think we have a great back-up in Schroeder for Garland coming off the bench as protection.

This won't work. We need a younger guard instead of a 36 year old that poops out in the playoffs. DG is the engine, it will be travesty to trade DG. James gave up in the playoffs & Donovan would bolt so quickly.
I'm almost 100 this is a No & won't work. If it were Trae Young it would be a little better. James Harden only has 1-2 more good years at best. Let's keep DG & bring in CP3 for the playoffs as another insurance.

Harden is 37-years-old. He’s been a malcontent on every team he’s played on. He doesn’t play defense. He chokes in the playoffs.

Harden is having a great year and is on last year with player option next year which helps long term money health. He also said he wants to go to a winner. Unlocks shooters and bigs. No brainer.
DG can’t stay healthy, is undersized on defense/taken advantage of, terrible in post season. His value is an all time low and harden is the one 1:1 suitor that makes sense to make us better in the short term.

Harden and mitchell lmao two of the biggest playoff chockers and horrible defenders they would flame out in the first round
Harden and Mitchell will not work in the backcourt together. Their play styles are too similar and neither is a true point guard. If they make this trade, the assists will plummet and the offense will get stagnant.
