I am sure you'd like to believe that Melo, and there is no doubt that beating the Knicks, should they play them, would be nice. However, the Piston's goal is much bigger than that. The Pistons want to win it all, and if the Knicks try to get in their way, so be it.
Ivey, a very promising player who sacrificed for the city for 2 guys one bad month away from the g-league. This adds nothing to the pistons and most fans in Detroit are confused and upset.
Pure BS we traded a 40% 3pt shooter for a 31%. Vince is trying to support his former teammate but the Pistons loss this trade.
Sucks to see Ivey go but he would have been difficult to keep in the off-season(probably cope). Getting a piece that will add shooting depth should matter this postseason. Also, I believe in the Cade Cunningham effect, wouldn't be surprised if shooting more open threes helps Huerter return more to form.
"Have?" become- Little late to that party
I think this trade was about knowing we can't sign Ivey this off season for what he's going to want, so he's not really part of the future with the rest of this core given the other guys who are more important. First it's Duren getting his bag – then it will be Ausar, then Holland, etc. There is only so much to go around and stay under the cap and with the team as defense focused as it is now – Ivey really didn't fit in very well anymore. No knock on him, I hope he does great in ChiTown.
I think the emergence of Danise Jenkins is one of factor Ivey Traded.
A dude who doesn’t play and a 31% 3 point shooter plus a protected 1-19 pick swap… this trade doesn’t make sense
Considering where we were at 2 years ago they lost 28 straight and where we at now I have no complaints piston power
Ivey didn’t seem to fit with this team and where they were going
This trade needs to lead to something more significant. It is lackluster at best. Sub 35% 3 point shooting isn't going to cut it.
Pistons not worried about the Knicks!
Pistons gave away the better player. Bad trade. Didn’t even get another go to guy. Cade still has to carry the load
To say, the Pistons are better after this trade is ridiculous! They gave up the #5 overall pick, that they absolutely screwed up!
For peanuts! Huerter?! hopefully they have some other move coming cause this sucks! JI for that?
The goal is always to buy low, sell high, we did the opposite!
Stop hating on my Pistons
The the New York Knicks don't mean that much to us
This trade very much signifies they are messing around and not a serious threat.
The reality is the last 2.5 years Huerter is a 34% three point shooter. Also Malik Beasley is a free agent and better than Huerter. Just sign Beasley if you want another movement shooter.
Bro we don’t care about the knicks lmao yall are mid
